Job Overview
The Product Owner is responsible for defining, prioritizing, and delivering software capabilities for embedded devices for the Flexpay devices portfolio. The role acts as the bridge between customers, business stakeholders, engineering teams, and technical leadership to ensure the successful development of firmware, middleware, platform services, device management capabilities, and related software solutions.
The Product Owner owns the product backlog, drives roadmap execution, translates customer needs into technical requirements, and ensures delivered solutions provide measurable business and customer value.
Responsibilities
This position will be focused on global devices and the software that runs on them. This role is responsible for maintaining the requirements, priorities and customer needs of FlexPay core products. Responsibilities include:
•Be a product evangelist for the vision of your product(s) both internally and externally
•Create, maintain, and prioritize product backlog items based on customer value, business objectives, and technical dependencies
•Keep up to date with global payment portfolio of devices, and ensure appropriate timing of delivery in the product roadmap
•Work with the regional team to ensure all global requirements are planned and deployed
•Work with cross-functional development teams (firmware, hardware) to manage cross-team dependencies and technical trade-offs.
•Work with your co-Product Owner(s) to ensure proper design, roadmap execution, user story creation, and refinement for proper execution and backlog priority for your product(s)
•Drive the engineering priorities for your product(s) through the Invenco PI planning process
•Perform competitive analysis and market research to influence the strategy of your product(s)
•Work with sales and marketing to provide a strong value proposition for your product(s) and enable clear go-to-market strategy and materials, sales enablement collateral and training
•Package and price products based on current customer data, previous sales data, market intelligence, and other data points
•Gain VOC (internal and external) on the product(s) to ensure user adoption, securing raw input from customers, suppliers, channel partners
•Build a comprehensive cloud migration plan from the current legacy services to a new next generation cloud service offing
•Collaborate closely with R&D and the commercial team to drive the organization for business results
Required Skills / Qualifications / Certifications
•5+ years product specialization, preferably a subject matter expert in card and mobile payments, remote device management, with experience in retail, fuel, or energy business sector
•Product management experience in a global SaaS business
•Ability and desire to impact customers through innovation
•Problem solving skills with the ability to use both quantitative and qualitative data points
•Strong understanding of agile product development & Scaled Agile Framework
•Experience gathering and prioritizing Product Requirements, Feature Requests and Software Products to ensure key customer milestones are met in an optimized and efficient manner.
•Strong collaboration with key stakeholders in product management, engineering, marketing, finance, professional services and sales teams.
•Ideally hold a relevant master’s or bachelor’s degree
Desirable:
•Experience with IoT or payment devices.
•Familiarity with Jira, Azure DevOps, Confluence.
•Exposure to PCI, EMV, security certifications, or regulated industries.
•Experience working across firmware, middleware, cloud, and mobile ecosystems.
•CSPO, PSPO, or SAFe POPM certification.
