Do you want to help us build the DNA of tech.? Vishay Siliconix Ireland is currently seeking applicants for a Senior Staff Applications Verification Engineer for our IC product line.
Responsible for: As a Sr. Staff Applications Verification Engineer, you will contribute to the success of Vishay by working together with applications, verification, design, firmware and systems architecture teams to ensure that Vishay’s proprietary power devices are robust, spec compliant and suitable for volume production.

This position is located Cork, Ireland.
What you will be doing:
• Development of and responsibility for pre-silicon HW emulation and IC Evaluation plans.
• Design of verification IP that allows for portability between UVM pre-silicon verification environments, FPGA-based HW emulation platforms and final silicon.
• System performance evaluation of candidate designs for IC tapeout.
• Responsibility for HW emulation test-plan delivery and completeness prior to IC tapeouts.
• Benchmarking of FPGA and IC applications performance against customer requirements/specifications.
• Development of methodologies and procedures to ensure high levels of data discipline to support HW platform robustness, repeatability of bench-level testing and quality of results.
• Development of lab-based automation for instrument control, HW platform control, data collection and results analysis.
• Design, development and maintenance of HW platforms to support IC designs.
• Protocol compliance testing of proprietary digital communications interfaces.
• Verification of digital protocol interfaces for full specification compliance.
• Planning, tracking and reporting of project progress against key milestones
• Project management, planning and status tracking.
• Structured issue tracking & reporting.

You will have a comprehensive, demonstrable background in power semiconductors / semiconductor physics and/or electronics engineering. You will approach tasks in a logic-based way, along with having the ability and motivation to develop novel and creative ideas. Your communication skills will enable seamless collaboration both with our manufacturing partners and internally, and you will know how to build and maintain lasting relationships in international and cross-functional project teams.

• PhD, post-graduate or degree qualification in Electronic Engineering or similar.
• 10+ years' relevant engineering experience.
• Experience and knowledge of power conversion.
• Extensive experience in the development and ownership of design evaluation plans.
• Experience in HW emulation as a tool for pre-silicon verification of IC designs.
• Development of FPGA-based IC verification plans to support UVM verification.
• Performance and completeness verification of designs on FPGA platforms prior to IC tapeouts.
• Deep understanding of power systems and insight into performance improvements and optimizations
• Excellent debug and analytical skills for root cause identification of issues in FPGA or IC environments.
• Experience supporting product applications teams and responding to customer issues.
• Experience in the management of a structured, organized, lab environment.
• Excellent organizational, planning and communications skills.
• Experience of working in wide-ranging roles and flexible environments.
• Knowledge of the IC product development cycle and the ability to work with cross-functional teams.
• Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
• The ability to support and mentor less experienced team members
