About this role

This is a remote position.

About the client:

I run a weekly video podcast (about 45-60 min per episode) and need someone to handle the post-production side so I can focus on content and guests.

Scope of work (~10 hrs/week):

  • Edit one main episode per week — cut dead air, filler words, awkward pauses, tighten pacing
  • Sync multi-camera or multi-track audio/video if we're recording with more than one angle
  • Basic color correction and audio leveling/noise cleanup
  • Add simple graphics: lower thirds, intro/outro, episode title cards
  • Cut 3-5 short clips per episode for social media (vertical format for Reels/TikTok/Shorts) with captions burned in
  • Publish in the right specs for YouTube, Spotify, Substack, plus other social platforms

Requirements:

  • Would be great if they had experience with Descript
  • An eye for pulling "hook" moments out of long-form conversation for short clips
  • Comfortable with a turnaround of 2-3 business days per episode
  • Reliable communication (async is fine, but responsive within a day)
  • Can follow a style guide/brand kit once we establish one
  • Detail-oriented — this is a talking-head show, so cutting rhythm and keeping energy up matters more than flashy effects

Budget/logistics:

  • Ongoing weekly gig, not project-based
  • Open to contractor rate per episode or hourly, whichever you'd recommend for scoping this correctly
