YOUR MISSION (The Job Description)
The Cashier is responsible for taking orders and serving food and beverage items to customers in a friendly, enthusiastic, and professional manner while guiding guests through the order-process to optimize sales. Regularly greet, communicate, and converse with all guests. Set up and maintain outlet in an attractive looking, organized, clean and standardized presentation. Serve drinks. Educate and inform customers about the menu and offer and be knowledgeable of all menu items. Be prepared to answer any guest questions and to ensure their experience at the outlet is memorable and positive. The candidate must also be required to clear and clean tables as they are vacated.
- Must love people and have a passion for serving others
- Maintain a clean, hygienic, and organized work environment including stocking of supplies, washing and polishing glassware, folding napkins, cleaning menus, sanitizing tables, etc.
- Adhere to company standards regarding food and beverage knowledge
- Orchestrate an extraordinary guest experience through positive guest interaction
- Ensure that guests are of legal drinking age by asking for an appropriate ID card
- Handle a cash bank and adhere to company policies regarding money handling
- Accurately enter all items into POS system and charge guests accordingly
- Comply with sanitation standards and notify management of any issues
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Learn and sell menu
- Must enjoy being around and working with people
- Communicate clearly in verbal and written English
- Comply with all safety and health department procedures as well as all state and federal laws
- Maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance per hotel standards
- Adhere to hotel policies including but not limited to attendance, safety, behavior
- Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written in English
- Current, legal, and unrestricted ability to work in the United States
- High school or equivalent education required
- Communicate clearly in verbal and written English
- Food Service Handler Card and TIPS certification that is currently valid for a minimum of at least 6 months
- Ability to work a flexible schedule
- 1-2 years' experience in a restaurant or food outlet
- Lift, pull, push and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Stand for periods of 8-10 hours
- Bend, squat and stretch in areas of limited space to perform cleaning, organization, and other duties
- Work in an environment that is subject to varying levels of cold, heat, sound, illumination, smoke, air quality, and pet hair/dander
- Incumbents are at times subject to hazards such as chemicals; proper safety precautions will be taken
