About this role

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving business development activities and market expansion in the assigned territory/customers across Sulawesi in Food & Beverage, Power, Chemical, Municipal, Pharmaceutical, Environmental Laboratory, Palm Oil, FMCG, and related industries for the complete range of Hach Analysers (Online & Laboratory Instruments).

The role involves close engagement with end users for application development, opportunity identification, value communication, and demand generation activities, while working closely with channel partners for commercial execution and transaction closure. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Accountability towards monthly business objectives related to bookings/shipments and quarterly opportunity pipeline development.
  • Drive business development growth and support market share expansion in the assigned territory.
  • Engage with customers across Food & Beverage, Power, Chemical, Pharmaceutical, Environmental Laboratory, Municipal, Drinking Water, Palm Oil, FMCG, and other assigned industrial verticals.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships across operational, technical, and management levels to enhance customer experience and long-term engagement.
  • Drive value communication and application development initiatives at key accounts.
  • Support marketing and service strategy deployment for key accounts.
  • Develop, implement, and sustain comprehensive account development plans (business development, marketing, and service engagement strategies) to support monthly and annual business objectives.
  • Meet weekly customer visit targets and generate qualified business opportunities.
  • Act as a primary point of coordination contact for customer-related activities, ensuring alignment and responsiveness across stakeholders in the assigned territory.
  • Prepare and maintain opportunity documentation (Business Funnel, Client Profiles, Installed Base Information, etc.) and ensure disciplined maintenance of CRM systems (SFDC).
  • Practice and promote VES tools such as Visual Management (VM), Daily Management (DM), Kaizen, PSP, Policy Deployment, and related business processes.
  • Understand customer requirements and recommend appropriate product/technology solutions.
  • Drive preparation and coordination of technical proposals, ensuring alignment with market requirements and commercial strategy through channel partners.
  • Drive opportunity progression through regular engagement with customers and channel partners
  • Coordinate with channel partners for quotation support, opportunity follow-up, and order execution activities.
  • Work closely with Supply Chain and Service teams to support smooth order fulfilment and customer satisfaction.
  • Support receivables follow-up activities for escalated cases through coordination with relevant stakeholders and channel partners.
  • Monitor and analyze competitor activities, market trends, and translate insights into actionable strategies to support business growth in the assigned territory.
  • Drive and execute actions to support results delivery in key focus areas.
