Job Description

The Business Product Owner is responsible for the business ownership, strategic direction, and continuous improvement of Supply Chain business capabilities supported by digital systems. Acting as the bridge between business and technology, the role ensures that systems, processes and operating models support operational excellence across Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance (QA), Manufacturing & Technology (MSAT), Commercial Operations and other cross-functional stakeholders.

The role represents the voice of the business, defining how business processes should operate, translating strategic objectives into business capabilities and system requirements, and driving adoption of solutions that deliver measurable business value.

While accountable for business process ownership, requirements, prioritization and adoption, the Business Product Owner will partner closely with DTE, Data Governance and solution providers to ensure successful delivery of systems.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Translate strategic business objectives into business capabilities, operating models, business requirements, and user stories, ensuring this is translated to our DTE partners. 
  • Ensure digital solutions support end-to-end business processes across Supply Chain and adjacent functions.
  • Design future-state operating models that improve efficiency, transparency and decision making.
  • Lead cross-functional and global workshops to define future-state business processes, operating models and business capabilities.
  • Build alignment across Supply Chain, Manufacturing, QA, MSAT, Commercial Operations, DTE/IT and other business functions with differing priorities, as applicable.
  • Facilitate business decision-making and resolve cross-functional process, data and governance challenges.
  • Drive endorsement of business processes, operating models and functional requirements prior to implementation.
  • Coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with DTE partners, business validation and business sign-off.
  • Support deployment planning, implementation readiness and adoption activities.
  • Partner with DTE to ensure delivered capabilities meet agreed business expectations. 

Minimal Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific or business discipline preferred, or equivalent years of relevant experience
  • 6+ years of Biotech, Pharmaceutical or medical device company related work experience
  • Ability to analyze straightforward problems and develop possible solutions using technical experience and judgment; may escalate unusual or complex problems  
  • Ability to effectively balance customer expectations with internal/team expectations
  • Exhibits robust knowledge across supply chain disciplines
  • Demonstrates strong aptitude for managing and motivating others and building team unity
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects with high degree of effectiveness
  • High level understanding of GMP processes and regulatory requirements
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to exchange relevant, and at times complex, information cross-functionally and ensuring understanding

Contract Length: 12 months, with the chance to extend.

Pay Range

$80/hr. - $90/hr.

Shift/Hours

Monday–Friday, 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., Hybrid
