About this role

The impact you’ll make:

  • Providing comprehensive support across multiple design projects and strategic initiatives within the 'X' programs, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and timelines.
  • Delivering high-quality industrial design outputs throughout the complete Solution Development Process, from initial concept development to final product launch, emphasizing innovation, usability, and manufacture ability.
  • Taking charge of smaller project segments or novel initiatives, adapting leadership style to project complexity and leveraging your expertise to foster successful outcomes.
  • Conducting in-depth consumer and competitor research to unearth user needs and market gaps, guiding design strategies that build distinctive, value-driven products.
  • Utilizing a variety of design techniques—including sketching, CAD modeling, prototyping, and storytelling—to craft compelling concepts that communicate design intent with clarity and impact.
  • Ensuring brand integrity by applying established design language guidelines consistently across all product touch points.
  • Collaborating seamlessly with multidisciplinary design teams and project members from marketing, R&D, and supply chain to facilitate cohesive product development.
  • Reviewing and critiquing prototypes and production samples rigorously, providing detailed feedback to guarantee fidelity to design specifications and quality standards.

The skills and knowledge you’ll bring:

  • A Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Industrial Design or a closely related field, complemented by a robust portfolio demonstrating a strong design sensibility and innovative problem-solving skills.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience within the home appliances or consumer electronics sectors, showcasing an acute sense of aesthetics, proportion, detail, and end-user usability.
  • Deep expertise in design for manufacturing principles and various production processes, ensuring your concepts are both visionary and practically executable with cost efficiencies.
  • Proficiency in a broad array of design tools and methodologies, including hand and digital sketching, prototyping techniques, and advanced CAD modeling software.
  • A professional demeanor characterized by independence, initiative, continuous learning, and a collaborative spirit fostering teamwork and knowledge sharing.
  • A bold, innovative mindset that consistently introduces fresh ideas and perspectives to the design process, coupled with readiness to engage in travel for visits to prototype workshops, suppliers, and industry exhibitions.
  • Strong communication skills in both Chinese and English, capable of articulating design narratives effectively through verbal presentations and written documentation.
