Material Handler - 2nd Shift

Shift: Monday through Friday 3pm to 11pm

Position Purpose


To provide the production department with all the necessary raw materials, components, and packaging materials needed to maintain all scheduled jobs. Updates ERP with material information for inventory. 


Essential Duties and responsibilities

  • Load, unload, receive material and place into locations.
  • Remove materials from the floor when jobs are complete and at the end of shift. 
  • Removing samples and taking them to the lab for analysis. 
  • Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks of information on containers. 
  • Supply the manufacturing floor with all materials needed.
  • Clean and maintain supplies, tools, and equipment in storage area.
  • Counts, weighs and records numbers of units of materials moved or handled.
  • Ensure quantities in inventory levels are accurate
  • Responsible for following all established Vaupell policies, standard operating procedures and safety practices. 
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Qualifications/Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Previous material handling experience preferred
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure. 
  • Ability to obtain Forklift certification within 30 days.
  • Valid driver’s license, if applicable, for site location.
  • Ability to read, speak, understand and follow instructions in English.
  • Must be able to wear and properly use the required personal protective equipment.

Candidates must be a “US Person” (i.e. US Citizen or Permanent Resident) to ensure Vaupell's compliance with ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) and EAR (Export Administration Regulations)

 

Environmental Condition

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes, airborne particles, and vibrations. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to occasionally loud. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. 


Physical Requirements

This position requires frequent standing, walking, bending at the waist, reaching above and below shoulder level, grasping, handling, finger dexterity, feeling, eye-hand coordination, eye-hand-foot coordination, pulling, ordinary hearing, near and far vision acuity, depth perception, color perception, and keyboarding. The employee must frequently lift, carry, and push items under 25 pounds; occasionally lift, carry, and push items weighing 25 to 50 pounds; and rarely lift, carry, or push items over 50 pounds. The position may also require occasional sitting, climbing stairs or ladders, balancing, kneeling, crawling, and turning or twisting.
