Position Summary:  Pull frame parts to be assembled.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for pulling frame parts by schedule to accommodate 75-100 frames per day.  Each frame can contain up to 50 parts per frame.  
  • Must become familiar with frame parts by location, style, and number.
  • Loads parts into buggy and push buggy into staging area for frame builders.
  • Must report any errors or damages to the supervisor including items misplaced in bins, misplaced patters, parts cut incorrectly, etc.
  • Responsible for quarterly inventory.
  • Properly organize tools and supplies at the end of each shift.
  • Clean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment and storage areas to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Wears required safety glasses and foot wear; works safely and reports unsafe conditions to Dept. Supervisor.
  • Performs other duties as required by supervisor.

 

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Must have ability to learn quickly and recognize parts.
  • Understand correct placement of parts, right / left sides, front / back.
     
     

Valued but not Required Skills and Experience:

  • Previous knowledge of furniture assembly.

 

Physical demands and work environment:

  • Lift / Carry: Frequently lifting less than 20 lbs.; occasionally lifting in excess of 50 lbs.; team lift greater weights.     Must be able to lift/remove frame from stock racks and push to holding area.
  • Standing: Must be able to stand 8+ hours.
  • Reach / Handle / Grasp: Repetitive use of hands required to pull stock.
  • Climbing: Must be able to climb ladder to access storage bins to place or remove parts.
  • Tools: Must be certified to operate forklift to reach higher stock elevations.
  • Environment: Indoors, environmentally controlled; heated.
  • Automation: Provided scissor lift for positioning.
  • Near Acuity: Requires close vision of less than 3 feet, with or without corrective lenses, for precision.
