Quality Assurance Engineer | Pune | Full-time

The Quality Assurance Engineer is part of the Quality and Sustainability team at VOICE Pune and is responsible for quality assurance activities within the Distribution Domain - Supply business function of North America region. The role ensures that all items delivered to project teams meet defined specifications, quality standards, and operational requirements. It involves close collaboration with the North America Quality Assurance team within the Distribution Domain.

What you will do

  • Work on solving quality issues reported by Project Execution, Site Management, and Customers related to site installation, projects execution, distribution centers, and suppliers.

  • Coordinates cross-functional resolution of site quality issues by driving Omni tracker incidents, SCAR, SIH - JIRA, and 8D problem-solving to ensure timely containment, root cause analysis, and prevention of recurrence.

  • Implements and follows up on containment and corrective actions for non-conforming issues, reports actions taken, and escalates systemic issues where required.

  • Monitors progress on incidents and corrective actions, ensures closure of open issues, and maintains effective communication with site teams, stakeholders, the SPOC, and internal functions such as sourcing and ordering.

  • Supports logistics quality assurance activities at the North America Distribution Centre (NADC), to ensure materials are handled and delivered in line with Vanderlande quality standards. Resolve incidents reported by sites related to logistics issues.

  • Creates and maintains quality reports and documentation, and analyzes trends across sites, supply centers, and supplier performance using field data.

  • Identifies and drives process improvements to strengthen quality assurance, improve workflows, and enhance product, logistics, and supplier quality performance.

What you bring

Technical Skills:

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications, including GD&T, ASME Y14.5, and AWS/ISO weld symbols.

  • Knowledge of inspection equipment, calibration requirements, and measurement system analysis tools such as Gage R&R and MSA.

  • Experience with dimensional and form inspection methods, including inspection limits and correction techniques.

  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as laser cutting, bending, welding, coating, machining, and casting.

  • Knowledge of Quality Management Systems, including ISO 9001, and assessment and audit techniques.

  • Knowledge of structured problem-solving and root cause analysis methods, including 8D and 5 Why.

  • Knowledge of First Article and approval processes, including PPAP, PSW, FMEA, Control Plans, and work instructions. Proficient in Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Power BI.

  • Sound knowledge of tools such as JIRA and Hubble/JD Edwards ERP is an advantage.

  • Experience in working on the Logistics Quality issues.

Required Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Metallurgy or Automobile Engineering with <10 years of related field/site and product quality experience.
