Your position
As a Support Engineer, you are responsible for the support and lifecycle management of Vanderlande’s High Level Controls (HLC) solutions deployed at airports worldwide. The focus is on ensuring the reliable operation and continuous improvement of the software controlling the logistical transport of baggage, including integration with connected subsystems and data-driven solutions.
In this role, you take the lead in maintaining system stability and performance, analysing complex HLC-related issues, and ensuring that the solution behaves as designed within a business-critical environment. You contribute to integration activities between HLC and interfacing systems, supporting deployments, updates, and changes with minimal disruption to operations.
You work closely with both internal teams and external stakeholders across global locations, acting as a key point of contact for HLC support, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives.

The Airports IT Services team is part of an IT Delivery group that is active globally in selling, delivering, and servicing our IT Solutions at Airports. You will work closely with other members of the team that are active in Sales, Engineering, Project Management and Life Cycle Services.
Your tasks and responsibilities
Ensure the reliable operation, stability, and performance of High Level Controls (HLC) systems deployed at Airports
Analyse and resolve complex HLC-related incidents and system issues
Act as a subject matter expert for HLC, providing advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis
Support and contribute to the integration of HLC with connected subsystems and external interfaces
Assist in deployments, upgrades, patches, and system changes with minimal operational disruption
Verify and validate system interactions across interconnected platforms
Identify opportunities to enhance system performance, stability, and efficiency
Contribute to data-driven improvements and optimization initiatives
Act as a key point of contact for HLC support across global stakeholders
Collaborate with internal teams (engineering, operations, development) and external partners/customers
Communicate effectively on issues, resolutions, and improvement initiatives across international environments
Your profile
Professional degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline
Foundational understanding of software development principles and High Level Control (HLC) systems within automated logistics environments
Foundational understanding of IT infrastructure and software development principles.
Strong affinity with Industrial Automation and logistic processes, specifically in relation to HLC systems and their interaction with material handling systems
Knowledge and experience with Linux commands, Oracle PL/SQL, Oracle Databases, Java code and Python scripting is a pre.
A results-driven professional with a proactive mindset.
Strong analytical skills and a constructive, critical approach to solving complex HLC and integration issues
Proactive, pragmatic and hands-on attitude in supporting live operational systems
Strong communication skills with good command of the English language.
Willing to travel up to 25% of the time.

Here is what that looks like in practice:
Salary: € 4.900 to € 5.900 gross per month on a full-time basis (40 hours per week), excluding an 8% holiday allowance paid out annually. As you grow in the role and deliver results, there is room to move beyond this range.
40 vacation days per year (full-time): 20 statutory days plus a flexible budget of 20 more. Plenty of space to rest, travel, and recharge. Accrued pro-rata for part-time.
