Electrical Design Engineer | Pune | Full-time

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer specializing in Lighting and Socket Systems for BHS/industrial infrastructure projects. The candidate will be responsible for complete lifecycle engineering activities including basic design, detailed design, BIM coordination, electrical calculations, lighting simulations, panel schedules, shop drawings, and as-built documentation.

The role requires expertise in lighting design standards, emergency and EXIT lighting systems, socket power distribution, cable routing, load calculations, and coordination with multidisciplinary engineering teams.

What you will do

Basic Design Engineering

  • Develop conceptual and basic design schemes for:

  • Normal Lighting Systems

  • Emergency Lighting Systems

  • EXIT Lighting Systems

  • Power Socket Systems

  • Prepare preliminary electrical load requirements in compliance with project specifications.

  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including BIM, mechanical, architectural, and power distribution teams.

  • Prepare initial Functional Design Specifications (FDS) for lighting and socket systems.

Define interface requirements to BIM including:

  • Electrical panel locations

  • Routing coordination

  • Equipment interfaces

Detailed Design Engineering

  • Perform detailed electrical load calculations for lighting and socket systems.

  • Finalize lighting and socket distribution panel requirements with OEM/vendors.

Prepare:

  • Single Line Diagrams (SLDs)

  • Panel load schedules

  • Distribution schemes

Develop lighting layouts with lux calculations using:

  • Relux

  • Dialux

  • Design DALI-based lighting control systems.

  • Prepare emergency and EXIT lighting layouts in compliance with NFPA standards.

  • Develop socket layouts and associated power distribution drawings.

  • Coordinate cable routing and panel locations with BIM teams.

Shop Drawings & Documentation

  • Prepare shop drawings and installation details.

  • Develop:

  • Final Electrical Lighting Panel (ELP) drawings

  • Electrical Power Panel (EPP) drawings

  • Cable schedules

  • Load schedules

  • Routing confirmations

  • Prepare complete as-built documentation including:

  • Final SLDs

  • Lighting and socket layouts

  • Panel schematics

  • Cable routing diagrams

  • Deliver documentation in:

  • A1/A3 formats

  • PDF and CAD formats

Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.

  • 6+ experience in industrial, airport, BHS, infrastructure, or large commercial projects preferred.

  • Hands-on experience in lighting calculations and electrical distribution design.

  • Experience in BIM-coordinated projects is highly desirable.
