Position Profile

The Spa Attendant is responsible for the upkeep, turnover, and laundry operation of Selah Spa, ensuring both change facilities and all spa areas are clean, fully stocked, and guest-ready for the following day. This is primarily a back-of-house, facilities-focused role with occasional, brief guest interaction in the locker/change rooms and occasional assistance to therapists with treatment room resets.

Essential Responsibilities

Facility Cleaning & Turnover (Primary Function)

  • Clean and sanitize both men's and women's change facilities nightly, including showers, lockers, (saunas/steam), and restrooms, per state and company sanitation and sterilization standards.
  • Clean and reset all common spa areas (relaxation lounge, hallways, locker rooms) at close of business.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, stocked, and well-organized work area throughout the shift.

Laundry

  • Wash, dry, fold, and restock all spa linen, towels, and robes; keep par levels stocked in all treatment rooms, change rooms, and laundry storage.
  • Monitor linen inventory and flag shortages or quality issues (staining, wear) to management.

Guest Interaction (Occasional)

  • Greet and assist guests briefly and courteously when encountered in the change facilities (e.g., directing to lockers, robes, amenities).
  • Respond to basic guest questions or escalate to the front desk/management as needed.

Treatment Room Support (Occasional)

  • Assist therapists with treatment room resets between services as needed, including linen changes, restocking supplies, and sanitizing surfaces.

General

  • Perform administrative tasks or inventory counts as assigned (linen counts, supply counts).
  • Assist in other areas of spa operations as directed by supervisor/management.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Prior housekeeping, laundry, hospitality, or facilities experience preferred; spa or salon experience a plus but not required.
  • Ability to work independently on a night shift with minimal direct supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail and reliability in following sanitation and turnover checklists.
  • Basic verbal communication skills sufficient for brief, courteous guest interactions.

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Must be able to lift and carry laundry loads (up to approximately 25 lbs) repeatedly throughout a shift.
  • Must be able to bend, kneel, and reach to clean facilities and stock supplies.
  • Must be able to work in a warm, humid laundry environment for portions of the shift.

Schedule

This is primarily a late afternoon/night-shift position covering evening close and overnight turnover/laundry operations. Schedule includes weekends and holidays based on business needs.
