About this role
- Valkyrie Enterprises has need for a Spectrum Management Specialist in Huntsville, AL working Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Spectrum Management Office (SMO) within the Office of the Chief Engineer.
- This role focuses on advancing mission-critical initiatives through comprehensive spectrum lifecycle management including system certification, frequency authorization, interference resolution, and global deployment.
- Deliver operational and administrative aid to the MDA SMO (CED) under the Specialty Engineering Director.
- Manage and maintain the Frequency Authorization tracker for all MDA missions, ensuring absolute data accuracy and consistency.
- Develop, author, and submit System Certifications (DD1494) utilizing STEPSTONE and EL-CID programs.
- Develop, coordinate, and submit frequency authorization requests utilizing Spectrum XXI (SXXI) for developmental, fielded, and new systems.
- Develop, update, and maintain critical reports and databases to support operational and engineering activities.
- Troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve electromagnetic interference (EMI) issues between developmental and deployed systems.
- Document standard operating procedures (SOPs), workflows, and technical solutions to support knowledge sharing and team efficiency.
- Develop, update, compile, and submit Host Nation Coordination (HNC) packets and Site Surveys for globally deploying systems.
- Must have a Bachelor's degree and at least 7+ years of relevant experience.
- Must have an understanding of Radio Frequency (RF) theory and electromagnetic principles.
- Must have excellent problem-solving skills and strict attention to detail.
- Must have strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively in a team environment.
- Must have the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) and Teams.
- Graduate of a military spectrum management school, preferred.
- 4+ years of experience within federal/DoW spectrum management, preferred.
- Ability to obtain / Active Top Secret / SCI security clearance, preferred.
- Experience with Spectrum XXI (SXXI) , preferred.
- Knowledge of the NTIA Manual (Redbook) , preferred.
- Experience with the GEMSIS suite (Stepstone, Host Nation Spectrum Worldwide Database Online [HNSWD-O], Joint Spectrum Data Repository [JSDR], Integrated Spectrum Desktop) , preferred.
- Knowledge of electromagnetic propagation modeling, wave behavior, and signal attenuation, preferred.
- Experience with MATLAB or other programming languages, preferred.
- Knowledge of the Joint Spectrum Interference Resolution Online (JSIR-O) portal, preferred.
- Experience with NTIA EL-CID, preferred.
- Knowledge of standard engineering practices, preferred.
- Experience with automation tools or programming/scripting languages to aid in data analysis, preferred.
- Must have an Active Secret clearance and the ability to maintain it.
- Minimal Travel; 10% or less
- If position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (by start of position) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID.
