DEPARTMENT: Sample
REPORTS TO: Sample Supervisor
SCOPE: Make samples for distribution to sales reps and customers.
TOOLS USED: Scissors, staple gun, overlocker sewing machine, glue gun and tweezers
REQUIRED PRODUCTION: Assigned Daily
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Safety
Perform all duties in a safe manner following guidelines established by Valdese Weavers.
Report all job related injuries and safety hazards to the supervisor immediately.
Actively participate in safety programs that identify, investigate, and correct safety hazards.
Attendance
Maintain personal attendance practices that meet established company goals.
Work Ethics
Maintain personal work habits which meet the demands and stresses of the job.
Meet deadlines and production quotas.
Get along with co-workers.
Follow instructions.
Work scheduled overtime, may include 10 hr days and/or Sat/Sun work.
- Duties: Perform the following duties according to ISO 9001 work instructions and standards:
Pull sample orders.
Overlock masters and colorline flags, sew flags to leader cloth, put stickers on flags and masters.
Layout master, flags and coordinates per instructions, book colorlines and assemble colorlines as required.
Apply content labels and collection labels to line items.
Maintain records of all completed work to include the person responsible for work, patterns, dates, and assign colorlines to shelf location.
Keep inventory of shelves and tubes.
Assemble memo cards.
OTHER JOB ELEMENTS:
Assist cloth cutters, sample utility and sample shipping clerk as needed.
Change the bobbins and thread on the sewing machine.
Perform any other duties as requested by the supervisor.
QualificationsEDUCATION, TRAINING, OR SKILLS NEEDED TO PERFORM JOB:
Pass test for colorblindness.
Good reading, writing, and basic math skills.
Sewing experience helpful.
