DEPARTMENT: Cut Yardage
REPORTS TO: Cut Yardage Supervisor
FLSA: Hourly - Non Exempt
Essential Functions
Cut Yardage Specialist
Cut fabric to order
Properly identify fabric with appropriate labels and tickets, be sure all data matches.
Label and package fabric for shipment.
Return the fabric to a proper storage location.
Move cut orders to the proper staging area based on routing, UPS, Fed-ex, etc.
Keep the work area clean. Maintain good housekeeping.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Import Expeditor
Label incoming Import shipments
Fill Import Orders
Perform Inventory and Cycle counts weekly of Cut, IMP, SHP bins
Assist with Labeling UPS and FedEx Shipments
Assist with Packing Cut Orders
Assist with other duties in Shipping and Cut/Imports as requested by your supervisor
Champion 5s program
Post Inspector
Center buggy on inspection frame.
Reset yardage clock at cut seams.
Center cloth on roll-up rolls. Lines or patterns must be straight across rolls.
Put the end of the cloth in the flap on the tube to keep the cloth from bowing when the roll is started up and to make the roll tighter.
Check the piece number on a roll and apply the matching hand tag.
Write in gross yards and allowance yards.
Check the cloth for bow and bias also check the width of the cloth.
Assure both edges of the fabric are running straight.
Check finish codes that call for stain-resistant finish to be sure it has been applied.
Write on tabs the reasons rolls are being sent to the regrade table.
Check the coating to ensure it is the same throughout the roll.
Apply appropriate stickers to roll if being routed anywhere other than shipping.
Assist with rerolls and mending as needed.
Final Inspection Clerk
Pull sample swatches from the file cabinets and insert tickets into rolls.
Key information (yardage, piece number, weight, inspector’s initials, etc.) about the roll into the computer.
Send rolls to the next step in the process (i.e. Finishing, Regrade, Samples, Shipping, etc.)
Keep sample folders filed in the correct place.
Keep the work area clean by sweeping and cleaning up at shift change.
Safety
Safely perform all duties following guidelines established by Valdese Weavers.
Report all job-related injuries and safety hazards to the supervisor immediately.
Actively participate in safety programs that identify, investigate, and correct safety hazards.
Maintain 5S standards.
PPE Required
Earplugs, dust mask, safety glasses, lock, safety tag, back brace, and any other equipment as required by MSDS.
QualificationsQualifications
Meet all pre-employment requirements.
Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
Good communication skills with the ability to work well with others.
Mechanical aptitude.
Must maintain an absenteeism rate of 5 points or less.
