Utilities Labourer
About this role
Our Distribution group is currently looking to add a Utilities Labourer to our team, based in Sherwood Park, AB.
Reporting to the Lead Hand, we are seeking an experienced construction Labourer to help install shallow-utilities (power, gas and telecommunications) in new subdivisions in and around the Edmonton area. This position requires the ability to work long hours working outdoors, working as a cohesive group.
Duties and Responsibilities- Set telecom peds, precast bases, sanding trench, moving material
- Lay power cable, telecom pipe, gas pipe in trenches up to 1.5m deep
- Operate jumping-jacks, and other handheld or portable equipment
- Operate skidsteer and backhoe at times safely onsite
- Read and understand construction drawings for specific tasks given
- Complete time sheets, vehicle pre-trip inspections and other paperwork as assigned
- Perform all other duties as assigned by supervisors
- Experience in a team-oriented construction environment
- Must have a valid Class-5 driver’s license and an acceptable drivers abstract
- Must have own vehicle to get to site
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, work outside for extended periods of time
- Must be flexible to working varying hours
- Strong team member with a positive attitude
This position offers an hourly rate of $23/hr.
