We are looking for a qualified OSP Permit Specialist to support permitting operations for broadband infrastructure projects nationwide. This early-career, full-time remote position offers the opportunity to grow your expertise in utility permitting while contributing to impactful connectivity projects.

As part of the Engineering & Permitting team, you will assist with permit preparation, regulatory compliance, and permit tracking. You will collaborate across departments and maintain communication with jurisdictional agencies to help ensure timely project delivery.


Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and submit permit applications, including DOT, pole attachments, ROW, traffic control, and SRP-related permits, in compliance with local, state, federal, and utility-specific requirements;
  • Research and interpret jurisdiction-specific and SRP-specific policies, standards, procedures, and GIS data to support accurate and compliant permit applications;
    Initiate Joint Use Pole and ROW permit applications and support Pole Loading Analysis (PLA), Make Ready Engineering (MRE), and SRP-related permitting and review processes;
  • Track permit statuses using Smartsheet, KMZ files, Excel, and permit management systems to monitor submissions, approvals, and expiration dates, including SRP permit requirements and milestones;
  • Coordinate with Engineering, Field, GIS, and Permitting teams to maintain project schedules and ensure compliance with SRP and other utility requirements;
  • Communicate proactively with permitting agencies, utilities, and SRP representatives to resolve issues, address permitting requirements, and avoid project delays;
  • Maintain clear communication channels using Teams, Outlook, and other collaboration tools.



Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • 3+ years’ experience in utility or telecom permitting, permit coordination, or related roles;
  • Familiarity with NESC standards, municipal codes, joint-use agreements, and pole permit procedures;
  • Experience with PLA, MRE, and ROW or DOT permit submissions;
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD or similar software;
  • Skilled in GIS applications, KMZ/Google Earth, Smartsheets, Microsoft Excel, and permit tracking tools;
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with traffic control, railroad, or environmental permitting;
    Experience working with Salt River Project (SRP), including familiarity with SRP permitting requirements, standards, processes, or procedures;
  • Exposure to telecom engineering, field surveys, or design collaboration;
  • Experience supporting federally funded projects such as BEAD or RDOF;
  • Advanced knowledge of GIS and permit tracking software.
