Description
The HR Compliance Specialist will be responsible for ensuring that the company's employment practices comply with federal and state labor laws across all US states where we operate. This role focuses on document verification, regulatory research, and proactive risk management to protect the company from fines and penalties. The specialist will monitor changes in state-level employment regulations, maintain compliance records, and support the HR and operations teams with accurate, up-to-date guidance. No prior experience in the US market is required — strong research skills and a detail-oriented mindset are the key criteria.

Key Responsibilities
- Research and monitor federal and state-specific employment laws, wage regulations, and labor standards to keep the company informed and compliant.
- Review and verify employee onboarding documentation, contracts, and HR records for completeness and legal accuracy.
- Maintain an up-to-date compliance calendar for each state where the company operates, tracking deadlines for filings, renewals, and mandatory notices.
- Identify potential compliance gaps and escalate findings to management with clear recommendations to avoid penalties and fines.
- Assist in developing and updating internal HR policies and templates in line with applicable state and federal regulations.
- Prepare regular compliance reports for management summarizing current risks, regulatory changes, and corrective actions taken
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- Higher education in Law, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Strong research skills: ability to find, read, and interpret US federal and state employment laws.
- High attention to detail in document review and compliance tracking.
- Understanding of basic HR concepts: employment contracts, onboarding documentation, labor standards.
- Good English (B2) or higher — required for reading US legal and regulatory materials.
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel); comfortable working with online legal/HR databases.
- Organized, methodical, and able to manage multiple compliance tasks simultaneously.
