SCHEDULE and Pay: This is a night shift position; Start time is 5:30 PM, Sunday through Thursday (which may include holidays). Work may also be required on Fridays and weekends. Finish time (when work is completed) varies and may require overtime with or without notice. Our Outbound Quality Associates earn $20.43 per hour.

Main Ingredients of the Job!

As a US FOODS® Pallet Wrapper associate, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of pallet builds and proper preparation for shipment to our customers to safeguard product from damage while loading and in transit. Make sure the wrapping machines are always clean and in good operational condition. Do not allow excess shrink to wrap to build up around guide wheel. Do not cut shrink wrap from rollers using a box cutter. Do not place stickers on any part of the equipment. Wipe down the equipment an end of shift each day. Follow all safety work practices and maintain clean and orderly dock area.

  • Prepare pallets for shipping to customers, ensuring proper pallet build, placement of protective materials, such as produce blankets and slip sheets, and quality wrapping for transport.

  • Confirm condition of product prior to loading, including both cases and breakers.

  • Determine when produce blankets are no longer useable and alert a Lead or Supervisor to purchase. Dispose of soiled cooler blankets.

  • Gather slip sheets and secure in an area close to wrapping stations to use during wrapping and inspection process.

  • Ensure work area is always free of debris.

  • Verify header labels are in upper right-hand corner for the loader to easily locate.

  • Help loaders by Unloading trailers staged in doors that contain pallets, blankets, straps and any debris left in the trailer. Raise door, lock trailer to dock & lower dock plate.

  • Work in extreme temperatures of 100 + degrees and below freezing.

What you bring to the table

Education/Training:

  • High School Education or GED preferred

Related Experience/Requirements:

  • A minimum of one-year warehouse experience preferred

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Good attention to detail

  • Ability to read batch labels

  • Basic mathematical skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide)

  • Must be team oriented and able to get along with others

Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law. The expected base rate for this role is $20.43 per hour.

As applicable, this role will may also receive: overtime compensation, and Freezer premium.
