The Night Loader is responsible for accurately loading outbound trailers in a safe, efficient, and timely manner to ensure on-time customer deliveries. This position verifies product integrity and order accuracy, follows load diagrams and routing instructions, and secures freight to prevent damage during transportation. The Night Loader works in a fast-paced warehouse environment, operates material handling equipment, and supports overall warehouse operations by maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work area while adhering to all company safety and quality standards.

SCHEDULE

Sunday - Thursday, 5:00 PM until completion of assigned workload. Overtime, weekends, and holiday work may be required based on business needs.

RATE OF PAY

$26.00 per hour

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Load outbound trailers accurately and efficiently according to load diagrams, route sequencing, and delivery schedules.
  • Conduct trailer inspections prior to loading to ensure trailers are clean, damage-free, and ready for transport.
  • Verify all pallets, cases, and product quantities prior to loading to ensure order accuracy and prevent shipping errors.
  • Operate pallet jacks and other material handling equipment safely to move products throughout the warehouse and loading dock.
  • Properly secure loads using load bars, straps, bulkheads, and other approved methods to prevent product damage during transit.
  • Inspect products for visible damage, quality concerns, and correct labeling before loading.
  • Maintain productivity standards while ensuring accuracy and compliance with company procedures.
  • Follow all food safety, warehouse safety, and OSHA guidelines, reporting any unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe dock area by removing debris and properly storing equipment.
  • Assist with other warehouse duties as assigned to support operational needs and team objectives.

None.

RELATIONSHIPS

Internal: Selectors, Forklift Operators, Leads, Supervisors, Transportation Team, Drivers, and Warehouse Associates.

External: Third-party carriers and transportation partners, as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Training: High School Diploma or GED preferred.

Related Experience: Minimum of one year warehouse, distribution, logistics, or loading experience preferred.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Ability to safely operate pallet jacks and material handling equipment; strong attention to detail and accuracy; ability to read and understand load diagrams, shipping documents, and labels; basic mathematical skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide); ability to work independently and as part of a team; strong communication and organizational skills; ability to meet productivity and quality standards in a fast-paced environment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse and loading dock environment with exposure to varying temperatures ranging from refrigerated and freezer conditions (-5°F) to ambient and outdoor temperatures exceeding 100°F. Must be able to stand, walk, bend, lift, and perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the shift.
