Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The essential job duties for this position are listed below:
- Operate and monitor crude oil storage tanks, pumps, docks, pipelines, valves, meters, and associated equipment.
- Receive crude oil from pipelines, docks, rail, or other transportation systems.
- Transfer crude oil between tanks and to outbound pipeline or transportation facilities.
- Monitor tank levels, pressures, temperatures, flow rates, and equipment conditions.
- Perform line-ups, valve changes, equipment startups/shutdowns, and system isolations.
- Conduct routine inspections and identify leaks, equipment problems, and abnormal operating conditions.
- Perform crude oil sampling, gauging, measurement, and inventory reconciliation as required.
- Maintain accurate operating logs, meter readings, tank inventories, and shift documentation.
- Coordinate with pipeline control, field operations, maintenance, measurement, and other departments.
- Follow Lockout/Tagout, confined space, hot work, and other safety procedures.
- Respond to alarms, spills, equipment failures, and emergency situations.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance and assist maintenance personnel with equipment issues.
- Maintain housekeeping and ensure the terminal remains in a safe and operational condition.
- Participate in safety meetings, training, and drills.
- Maintain knowledge of crude oil characteristics, terminal equipment, operating procedures, and emergency response requirements.
- High school diploma or GED
Required experience is commensurate with the selected job level:
- Level C requires a minimum of 0 – 2 years of relevant industry experience or equivalent work experience
- Level B requires a minimum of 2 – 4 years of relevant industry experience or equivalent work experience
- Level A requires a minimum of 4+ years of relevant industry experience or equivalent work experience
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read and understand P&IDs, operating procedures, and equipment documentation.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in a time-sensitive operating environment.
- Strong commitment to safety, environmental compliance, and operational reliability.
- Basic Computer based knowledge, Microsoft word and Excel.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to meet company qualification requirements.
- Valid TWIC Card.
