About this role

The Bakkenist Lab at UPMC Hillman Cancer Center is currently seeking a Postdoctoral Associate. A postdoctoral fellowship is available to study the integration of genomic DNA metabolism with innate immune signaling. Specifically, the successful applicant will be interested with how mechanism that recognize and repair genomic DNA damage may metabolize cytoplasmic DNA in ways that impact recognition by the cGAS pathway. The successful applicant will identify new targets whose targeting may increase inflammation in the tumor microenvironment. Studies will primarily use reconstituted and cellular systems that can be readily manipulated using CRISPR/Cas9 technology. The successful applicant will be the lead scientist and first author on the successful research.

Requirements: PhD in cell biology or related field of study and 2 years of experience/exposure in cell biology at the postdoctoral level.
