WFP Volunteer with the Private Partnership Team, New York Office

Type of Contract: Voluntary Assignment

  • Hiring Office: PSP

  • Duty Station: New York office

  • Start Date: 31 August 2026

  • Duration: 6 months

  • Supervisor: Partnership Officer

  • General admin and scheduling support in particular on follow up from meetings and events and preparations for upcoming visits, travel, meetings and events.
  • Scoping events, fora for a yearly strategic engagement calendar for the USA market in particular including connecting dots
  • Research and mapping on bundlers, aggregators and transformational partners, particularly new partners and sectors not yet tapped by the UN or WFP – including AI.
  • Research on matching and thematic fund approaches, including governance, structure, funding, aims, and relate it to US tax code provisions.
  • Research on informal coalitions and how they work what we can learn and mimic as WFP.
  • Support for prospecting High Net Worth, corporates, family offices etc in the American market.
  • Development of stronger follow up system for me using salesforce.
  • Support to connect the dots between meetings, events, follow up and senior leadership engagement.
  • Other research, administrative and organizational duties as required.

EXPECTED OUTCOMES

The volunteer gains practical experience in humanitarian coordination, training delivery, event management, partner engagement and the administrative processes required to support global learning initiatives in an operational humanitarian environment.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree or enrollment in degree programme

  • Positive, ‘can-do’ attitude and a willingness to learn, engage and problem-solve

  • Demonstrated interest in WFP and its mission

  • Plus to have experience beyond humanitarian issues – financial, marketing, business, culture, advertising, etc.

  • Open mind to finding new ways of engaging and broadening partnerships across the USA to benefit WFP

  • Languages: Be fluent in English. Competency in other WFP official and working languages is an asset
