The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) is seeking a qualified individual for the position of Occupational Health Nurse – Wellness to be based in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).
The selected candidate will be engaged on a Service Contract (SSA-6) to support staff wellness activities and infection prevention and control measures, including support to emergency public health response activities.
KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Support implementation and monitoring of Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) measures across WFP operations.
Assist in tracking staff health status, exposure risks, and compliance with safety protocols.
Support coordination of staff training and awareness sessions on Ebola prevention and other public health risks.
Facilitate communication between field teams and the Medical Doctor on health-related issues.
Support medical briefings and debriefings for staff before, during, and after deployment to high-risk areas.
Ensure integration of IPC measures into programme delivery, including distributions and site operations.
Support coordination with cooperating partners, government counterparts, and the Ministry of Health on health and safety requirements.
Maintain records and contribute to reporting on IPC compliance and health-related risks.
Assist in tracking and distribution of personal protective equipment (PPE) in coordination with field and supply chain teams.
Support preparation of situation reports and documentation of incidents and mitigation measures.
Ensure adherence to WFP safety procedures and national public health response guidelines at all times.

MINIMUM EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS
University degree in Nursing.
Additional training in Public Health, Occupational Health, Emergency Care, Infection Prevention and Control, or a related field is desirable.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum six years of progressive professional experience in healthcare practice, nursing, or occupational health.
Experience in outbreak response, emergency health interventions, or infection prevention and control is desirable.
Experience working in developing countries, conflict-affected settings, or humanitarian environments is an advantage.
Experience within the United Nations system or a similar international NGO is an asset.
LANGUAGE
Fluency in oral and written French is required.
Working knowledge of English is desirable.
