Job Summary:

The Department of Psychology at the University of San Francisco invites applications for a pool of qualified, temporary, part-time instructors to teach on-site, in-person classes for our undergraduate program.

Full Job Description:

This position seeks candidates from the field of Psychology (or related disciplines) who can teach undergraduate psychology classes at any level, from introductory to advanced courses. A full list of courses taught in our program is available in our course catalog (https://catalog.usfca.edu/preview_program.php?catoid=35&poid=34438&returnto=8274). We would be particularly interested in candidates who can teach the following courses:

 

PSYC 101 - General Psychology

PSYC 260 - Psychological Statistics

PSYC 265 - Research Design

PSYC 270 - Biological Psychology

RHET 203 - Writing in Psychology

 

Screening of applicants will begin immediately and will continue as needed, with some appointments beginning as early as the Fall 2026 semester. The number of these temporary, part-time, non-tenure track, academic positions varies from semester to semester, depending on the needs of the program. Appointments are offered on a course-by-course basis, and appointment length is based upon course section schedule(s). Appointments may be renewable based on need, funding, and performance.

   Experience teaching in a university environment

   Willingness to work in a culturally diverse environment, including engaging with and uplifting BIPOC students
