Universal Horror Unleashed is a terrifyingly unique experience that will bring haunts to Las Vegas year-round. Located at Area 15 is the heart of horror – we would love to have you haunting alongside us! With the nature of this experience comes a unique working environment. You will find yourself working in dark environments around special effects including strobe lights, fog, artificial smells, and more. The working hours will be unique, typically spanning over late evenings/nights and weekends (holidays included). JOB SUMMARY:

Prepares and cooks food for multi-unit operation. May lead the Line Cook as directed by Sous Chef during service. Assists Sous Chef in ordering, receiving, and having a basic knowledge of the overall inventory process. Trains new Team Members in the Line Cook role and leading them when there is not culinary leadership available. Role will be cross trained at all food stations and have proficient knowledge of food preparation and food safety.

JOB RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Performs Cook duties at all stations in the kitchen to ensure food preparation meets Universal Standards. Monitors Line Cooks to make sure proper food safety practices are followed at all times.
  • Performs duties of a Line Cook, including opening/closing procedures, interacting with guests when necessary, knowing allergen information, and maintaining cleanliness of the station. Ensures compliance of the State of Nevada’s HACCP program and ServSafe certification.
  • Trains new Team Members on basic food safety and the overall process of food preparation/venue standards. Assists the Sous Chef with leading the Line Cooks workflow, helping them to manage their priorities and keeping preparation time efficient.
  • Assists in the ordering and receiving process, along with having a basic understanding of inventory, and accounting for spoilage and daily temperature logs.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: 

  • Possession of a SNHD Health card and any other required certifications or licenses.
  • Obtain a Work Card.

 EDUCATION:

  • Chef’s Apprentice is preferred.

EXPERIENCE: 

  • 2+ years of Line Cook experience is required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
