Job Summary 

Supports management in directing and coordinating activities of specific Scenic Décor & Props functions and maintenance efforts. Provides work direction and leads the daily tasks of Team Member work to support the operation and maintenance of décor and props to ensure their high-quality appearance. Leads the team by overseeing shifts, new installations and/or strikes for new design elements and completing administrative duties in support of Technical & Show Management and compliance requirements. Upholds and reinforces company and venue specific policies and procedures. Maintains complete knowledge of their discipline and addresses any technical operational concerns, elevating concerns to the appropriate Technical Supervisor when necessary.
 
Job Responsibilities
  • Responsible to plan and delegate tasks to the appropriate Technical & Show Team Member. Communicates performance expectations in an effort to ensure proper completion of tasks; provides feedback for recognition and performance improvement. Completes necessary reporting and task management through the proper systems including Maximo to ensure effective communication between shifts as well as with Technical Management and Technical Coordinators. 
  • Actively reinforces company safety guidelines and programs, ensuring compliance and state regulations are adhered to. Monitors Team Member’s productivity, safety, and partnership with other departments. Leads scenic décor and props work startup and stoppage while ensuring compliance with UHU standards and procedures. Monitors care, condition, use and storage of tools and equipment. Maintains material and equipment inventories
  • Ensures proper completion of work and documentation within Maximo. Troubleshoots and takes direction for the execution of any Entertainment set and/or design changes within the operation, seasonal offerings, or special events in accordance to the approved design. Captures written behaviors using the Lead Observation-Report to support Technical & Show Management documentation and adherence to state requirements
  • Responsible for effectively communicating and coordinating necessary information of the Technical & Show operation to other UHU departments, Technical & Show leadership and affected Team Members. Communicates resources needed and work plans to leadership. Servers as first liaison for the Technical & Show team, Supervisors, and Human Resources.
  • Supports training efforts for on-the-job training for all new Team Members and provides training updates to existing Team Members, completing proper documentation of all training completed. Assigns training shifts as necessary.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of tools and metal working used in scenic décor and props technologies and industry standards. Steps into assist the operation as necessary by performing Technician job duties. Completes all company mandated training and maintains any state required license renewals.
  • Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UDX policy, procedures, training, and team member involvement activities. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities (KSAs) required. 

  • Previous experience within the scenic décor, set dressing, props, or event installation. 

  • Strong ability to work in a team environment and providing work direction.  

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.

  • Consistent attendance is a job requirement. 

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:   

  • Local and state required licenses including OSHA 10.  

  • Able to obtain LVMPD Non-Gaming Work card  

 EDUCATION: 

  • Associate’s or Technical degree in related field is preferred.     

EXPERIENCE:   

  • 3+ years of scenic décor, set dressing or props experience in design, installation, and maintenance with 1 year of providing work direction is required, 2+ years of experience within the professional entertainment or themed entertainment industry is preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
