Content Specialist, Corporate Communications (6 Month Project)

JOB SUMMARY:
The Content Specialist, Corporate Communications will support the partnership between the Universal Destinations & Experiences (UDX) Corporate Communications and Community Relations teams, including both external and internal communications programs and projects. This includes creating compelling written and visual content, including photo and video, focused on UDX Community Relations’ strategic pillars and initiatives across our global destinations and divisions for Corporate Communications, Team Member and executive communication channels (including web, email, newsletters, social media, digital signage and more). This content will inform the company’s key external audiences and engage both current and prospective Team Members. It will ensure brand adherence, exemplify our culture and promote UDX as a community steward and employer of choice. The Content Specialist will build relationships with UDX’s global teams focused on community impact to support editorial and content needs including the coordination of video and/or photo shoots.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Content Development
- Works with Director of Corporate Communications and the UDX Community Relations team, destinations, and divisions to seek out, plan, create and execute compelling stories, photography and video content for various audiences and channels including web, email, newsletters, company intranet, social media, digital signage and more in alignment with UDX Community Relations and brand goals.
- Develop UDX Community Relations assets to include evergreen content, copy, photography, video elements and presentation materials.
- Responsible for creating talking points, speeches, storyboards and scripts for Community Relations events and initiatives
- Content Project Management
- Develop annual UDX Community Relations Communications global calendar; responsible for writing stories and identifying visual assets to support the UDX Community Relations strategic pillars. Ensure nomenclature, voice, brand and IP considerations are being represented accurately and in line with UDX brand assurance guidelines. Coordinate necessary approvals (including IP review).
- Partner with UDX destination and division project managers, internal clients, and stakeholders to ensure all visual assets and presentation of news and editorial content meets communication goals. Proactively build relationships across the destinations and divisions to identify storytelling opportunities
- Content Asset Management and Tracking
- Maintain an accessible global asset library with effective tagging and archival processes. Oversee and maintain shared folders, libraries, and resources including destination and division content presence
- General Communications Support
- Provide content and logistical support for communication events, video/photo shoots, presentations, and other communications channels as identified
- Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UDX policy, procedures, training, and team member involvement activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Film and Digital Media, Fine Arts, Graphic Design, or other related fields preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
- 3+ years of content creation experience for digital channels (web, email, social media, etc.) required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Video development and videography experience preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
- Excellent photography, video, typography, layout, and graphic design skills, with particular emphasis on digital platforms including web, email, social media.
- Ability to story-mine, write and produce content aligned to corporate and community storytelling strategies and effectively measure the performance.
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to produce and edit both short and long format video content.
- Excellent interpersonal and team communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Demonstrated ability to work quickly, coordinate multiple work streams and prioritize under deadlines among competing priorities.
- Editorial and operational skills with a deep understanding of the role content plays in supporting the Team Member experience.
- Self-directed with excellent organizational skills.
- Proven aptitude for quick creative thinking with acute attention to detail.
- Experience in a communications-related field or extensive, personal familiarity with communications processes and workflows.
- Must be a team player – able to build and maintain strategic partnerships.
- Adobe Creative Cloud experience required, including Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Premiere Pro; Adobe After Effects experience is a plus, as well as familiarity with other multimedia content creation software.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office preferred.
