JOB SUMMARY:
Execute on complex initiatives to implement and support product/pricing strategies across E-Commerce and ticketing platforms. Learns functionality of new software systems (e.g., SAP Commerce, Horizon ticketing system) and solutions provided by Digital & Technology, combining that knowledge with business requirements from Marketing & Sales, Digital & Technology, Finance, Global Product & Pricing, Loss Prevention, Attractions Operations and Entrance Operations to develop efficient and repeatable solutions to meet the business needs. Develops automation through advanced technical skills to improve accuracy and speed to market with product launches. Prepares complete documentation and learning aides to ensure others can come up to speed on new software, solutions and processes quickly and accurately.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Complete initial setup and configuration of new systems in all environments, working closely with Digital & Technology, vendors, and Quality Engineering to understand requirements and implementing solutions that are appropriate based on system functionality and UDX’s standards. Troubleshoot issues to identify root cause and remediate appropriately either directly or through other teams.
- Complete end-to-end testing of new systems to ensure that elements that require in-depth understanding of the configuration and functionality are verified to be functioning as expected. Escalate defects found to vendor and/or Digital & Technology teams with sufficient detail to aide in issue reproduction and root cause identification. Collaborate on potential fixes and verify that resolution provides the expected functionality.
- Analyze end-to-end process for bringing products to life and identify areas for efficiency to enable quicker speed to market for new product launches and price changes. Leverage advanced technical skills to develop automation by utilizing available resources in existing systems (e.g., Application Interfaces, database updates) alongside programming abilities (e.g., SQL, Visual Basic, Python) to develop, test and implement solutions that can be leveraged by less technically skilled team members.
- Participate in requirement gathering sessions with Marketing, Sales, Digital & Technology, Finance, Global Product & Pricing, Loss Prevention, Attraction Operations and Entrance Operations to understand the needs for the full life cycle of products. Evaluate requirements to develop solutions for how those are met in systems that Global Product & Pricing is responsible for and partner with other system owners to ensure an understanding of how they are met with other systems. Implement solutions in systems and provide detailed documentation on solution design for Global Product & Pricing Knowledge Base.
- Participate in software system onboarding to gain full understanding of functionality, proper usage, and to identify gaps that need solutions developed to ensure business needs are met. Develop high quality documentation and other learning aides (e.g., videos) to establish Knowledge Base for ongoing use by the Global Product & Pricing team as new team members begin working with the systems.
- Develop standards for how new systems will be utilized by the Global Product & Pricing team to ensure consistency and accuracy while meeting business requirements. Collaborate with teams at all UDX locations (e.g., Universal Studios Hollywood, Universal Studios Japan) to leverage learnings captured prior in developing new standards.
- Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s degree is required in Business or Management Information Systems.
EXPERIENCE:
- 3+ years’ experience required with large scale admission ticketing system (e.g., Galaxy Ticketing System, Horizon), including 2+ years’ experience utilizing advanced development skills leveraging Application Interfaces (APIs) and programming languages (e.g., Visual Basic, Python) to automate manual/repetitive processes for efficiency and accuracy. Additionally, 1+ year in setup/configuration of system, 1+ year experience with enterprise level E-Commerce systems (e.g., HCL Commerce, SAP Commerce Cloud).
- Advanced PC skills, including but not limited to Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, Relational databases, and SQL required.
- Understanding of key financial processes/concepts (e.g., Debits/Credits, Deferred Revenue) and their typical application in a theme park environment preferred.
- Flexible and adaptable regarding learning and understanding new technologies.
- Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to conduct research into software-related issues and products.
- Highly self-motivated and directed.
- Keen attention to detail.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure, fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Experience working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
- Demonstrated self-starter with strong organizational skills and the ability to take ownership, work independently, and produce accurate and timely results.
- Capable of balancing competing priorities while working on a variety of activities that span across many different functions;
- or equivalent combination of education and experience.
