Job Overview and Responsibilities


The Manager - Inflight Training Device Maintenance is responsible for coordinating, assigning, tracking, and technically evaluating all maintenance activities for Door Trainers and Emergency Procedure Equipment across seven (7) Inflight training domiciles.

This role oversees training device maintenance teams of Flight Simulator Technicians (FSTs) based in Houston and Denver and has supervisory responsibility for employees covered by the IBT collective bargaining agreement.

The position requires frequent travel between Houston and Denver, as well as occasional travel to each of the Inflight training domiciles.

  • Ensure Inflight Training Devices maintain an acceptable level of reliability and availability for training operations. Monitor work assignments with Lead Flight Simulator Technicians to ensure equipment discrepancies are properly assigned and corrective actions are completed based on their impact on training.

  • Prepare cost analysis, project plans and schedules for in-house maintenance and modifications to the Door Trainers and Emergency Procedures Training equipment. Coordinate and perform equipment relocations including disassembly, shipping, setup, and testing.

  • Ensure Simulator Quality Management System (SQMS), FAR, and Safety compliance daily. Monitor the Inflight Training Device equipment performance analyzing trends and coordinating corrective actions where necessary. Schedule and monitor Preventative Maintenance (PM) actions for desired effectiveness.

  • Manage employee attendance, scheduling, and overtime of employees covered by the collective bargaining agreement (CBA). Interfaces with LR, HR, and Union representatives to ensure CBA and Company Policy compliance.

  • Communicate with the Inflight Training Device users to obtain feedback on maintenance issues and performance including operational reliability and availability.

Qualifications

What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):

  • Bachelor's degree or 4 years of relevant work experience
  • 4 years of maintenance related experience
  • Ability to use MS Office Suite
  • Must be willing to travel 50% of the time

What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):

  • Bachelor’s degree or 4 years of relevant work experience in an Engineering field of study

  • 4 years of experience in a Part 60 maintenance operation and knowledge of emergency procedure training equipment maintenance and operational requirements in a 121 or 142 operation
  • Previous supervision of employees covered by a Collective Bargaining Agreement.

The base pay range for this role is $102,220.00 to $133,194.00.
The base salary range/hourly rate listed is dependent on job-related, factors such as experience, education, and skills. This position is also eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation awards.
