About This Opportunity
Join the UNIQLO Future Leaders Internship Programme and gain hands-on exposure to how an in-house legal team supports business operations in a fast-paced retail environment. As a Legal Intern, you will work closely with the Legal team to support legal research, compliance initiatives, contract administration, and risk management activities. Through real business assignments, you will gain practical experience in legal analysis, stakeholder management, and corporate compliance while supporting day-to-day business operations.
What You Will Learn
By the end of the internship, you will:
Understand the role of an in-house legal department and how it supports business operations.
Develop practical legal research, analysis, and drafting skills.
Gain exposure to corporate compliance, data protection, and regulatory requirements.
Learn how legal risks are identified, assessed, and managed within a retail business environment.
Build communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills through real business projects.
Key Responsibilities
Support legal research and analysis on regulatory, compliance, employment, consumer protection, and commercial law matters.
Assist with the preparation of legal guidance materials, presentations, and internal compliance resources.
Support contract administration activities, including document tracking, execution coordination, and record management.
Assist in reviewing and monitoring legal and compliance matters relating to retail operations, including support for compliance review activities.
Support legal projects and day-to-day activities that contribute to effective legal risk management and business compliance.
Potential Projects
Support legal research and compliance initiatives related to business operations and regulatory requirements.
Participate in contract administration and legal documentation activities to support efficient legal operations.
Assist in compliance review, risk assessment, and reporting activities that support continuous improvement across business functions.
Who Should Apply
We are looking for students who:
Are pursuing Law, Legal Studies, or related disciplines.
Have an interest in corporate law, compliance, risk management, or in-house legal practice.
Possess strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Demonstrate attention to detail and the ability to handle confidential information responsibly.
Are able to communicate clearly and work effectively with different stakeholders.
Are comfortable using Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
