  • This position will work onsite the Grand Forks, ND campus.

Purpose of Position

The Department of Physical Therapy is seeking a faculty member to teach in the areas of neurologic, geriatric, general physical therapy, and other duties dependent of departmental need.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Teaching in the areas of neurologic, geriatric, general physical therapy, and other areas of departmental need.
  • Well-defined, ongoing scholarly agenda and dissemination.
  • Service to the department, school, university, and profession.
  • Advising graduate and undergraduate students.

Required Competencies

  • Possess appropriate academic and experiential qualifications.
  • Obtain and hold appropriate state licensure for professional practice.
  • Maintain a high level of professional ethics as outlined by APTA and the University.
  • Have strong interpersonal and written communication skills. 

Minimum Requirements

  • Academic doctorate or earned DPT with a commitment to pursue academic doctorate appropriate for teaching responsibilities and scholarly activity.
  • Advanced training with contemporary expertise and clinical experience in neurologic, geriatric, or generalist physical therapy practice.
  • Current PT license; eligible for ND license.
  • 3 years' clinical experience.
  • Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check.

Preferred Qualifications

  • An academic doctorate in a field appropriate for teaching responsibilities.
  • A Board-Certified Clinical Specialist from the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties or advanced certification.
  • Classroom teaching experience.
  • Experience in clinical research or scholarly activity.
  • Membership and involvement in professional associations
