Salary Range: $32,000 - $40,000

Position Summary
This position is for a full-time Research Assistant in The College of Liberal Arts STEM Learning Lab to provide research support on a project funded by the National Science Foundation that is designed to create a comprehensive database of student strategies and errors on a wide variety of 4th grade through Algebra I mathematical content that can be systematically mined to identify and predict common patterns associated with particular types of problems.
The Research Assistant will assist the principal investigator and co-investigators with research activities. Primary duties will include data coding of errors and strategies in student work on varied levels of mathematics assessments and assignments. Other duties will include lab management, data entry, management, and cleaning, assistance with preparing presentations, reports, and manuscripts, and assisting with literature reviews. Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in psychology, education, or a related field.
At least 6 months of related research experience.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Preferred Education and Experience
5 years post-bachelor’s degree research assistant experience.
Experience teaching or tutoring mathematics in elementary and middle schools.
Required Skills and Abilities
Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team.
Demonstrated excellent attention to detail and ability to follow research procedures.
Must be familiar with procedures and regulations regarding participant confidentiality.
Demonstrated MS Office skills and experience creating and managing databases in Excel.
Demonstrated professional phone skills and excellent written communication skills.
This position is assigned a hybrid work arrangement (on-campus and remote), the duration of this hybrid work arrangement is at the discretion of Temple University and the Department.
