Sr Design Engineer - VE

Job Description:
The Senior Design Engineer will serve as a technical leader for Value Engineering projects focused on cost reduction and product optimization. This position will drive engineering solutions, mentor engineers, and provide technical direction throughout the product development and change management processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Value Engineering projects focused on cost reduction initiatives.
- Develop and evaluate design, manufacturing, and process improvement opportunities.
- Provide technical leadership for mechanical design and engineering activities.
- Coordinate Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and Engineering Change Notices (ECNs).
- Work closely with suppliers and sourcing teams on technical evaluations and quotations.
- Support production builds and project validation activities.
- Conduct hands-on assembly and disassembly testing of products.
- Coach, mentor, and develop engineers reporting directly to the position.
- Drive problem-solving and technical decision-making across projects.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience.
- Strong background in mechanical design, material mechanics, and failure analysis.
- Experience with manufacturing processes.
- Proficiency in 3D modeling, 2D drawings, and GD&T.
- Experience leading ECR and ECN processes.
- Advanced English proficiency.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred
- Previous experience leading and mentoring engineering teams.
- Experience working in a product development or Value Engineering environment.
