VFX Artist
About this role
We are looking for a VFX Artist with 1–5 years of experience to own and define the card pack opening experience for Rips by Triumph — the #1 collectibles app on iOS. You'll be the first dedicated game artist on the team, with full creative autonomy and no creative director above you. This is your chance to craft the emotional moments that make rare pulls feel legendary and drive millions of users to share their wins. You'll also have a clear path to grow into leading and building out the VFX art team as the company scales.
This is an in-person role based in our San Francisco office (can be flexible how many days in office). You don't need to be in SF today; we're open to candidates that can relocate for this role.
What will you be doing?
Designing and animating the full card pack opening experience — building anticipation, escalation, and payoff that makes users feel the thrill of every rip
Helping establish VFX standards and baselines that can scale across 50+ themes and seasonal drops
Contributing to art direction for in-game VFX with real creative ownership — no design by committee
Helping build out the VFX pipeline and processes as one of the founding game artists
Growing into a player-coach lead role over time, with the opportunity to hire and mentor additional VFX artists
