The Role
Day to Day
- Shaping and implementing programs that support mobility and promote sustainable modes of transportation, such as universal basic mobility, transportation equity, travel options programs, or safe routes to school.
- Applying TDM principles to help implement successful projects, programs, and initiatives within diverse communities, particularly in Seattle, King County, and the Puget Sound region.
- Supporting the execution of a universal basic mobility program. This includes one-on-one interactions with commuters and residents, providing information on transportation service details, supporting specialized program offerings, administering mobility wallet cards and more. Work occurs in person, via virtual meetings, email, telephone, and/or via digital platforms.
- Identifying, building, and maintaining partnerships with regional transportation providers to expand mobility options for project purposes and program participants.
- Collaborating with other team members and local partners to provide resident-facing outreach, transportation program related sales, and program partnerships.
- Tracking program data, documenting customer interactions, maintaining accurate records, managing project assets, organizing materials, and monitoring inventories.
- Collaborating with and supporting project staff on the development, production and distribution of electronic, online, and print project materials.
- Planning and staffing outreach efforts such as community events, transportation fairs, pop-up tabling , lunch and learns, local fairs and festivals, and other in-person engagement. This may include coordinating logistics, transporting equipment, staffing events, and tracking metrics. Always representing Alta’s clients and programs warmly and professionally.
- Supporting program measurement and evaluation, such as collecting data, tracking metrics, conducting surveys, and summarizing results.
- Supporting client-facing communications in collaboration with project managers, such as identifying project needs and challenges, sharing timely updates, proactively surfacing recommendations, and recommending program innovations to strengthen project delivery.
- Assisting project managers with administrative tasks in support of program efforts.
Qualifications
This position requires a combination of skills, experience and education including, but not limited to
- Comfortable conducting in-person outreach independently and as part of a team
- Experience working directly in an outreach or customer service capacity with the public
- Ability to connect with people from a variety of backgrounds
- Ability to answer in-depth questions about transportation options in Seattle and King County, including walking, bicycling, transit, and carpooling (including route selection, equipment, online resources and organizations, common concerns, etc.)
- Experience working with a varying software, including:
- Project management software (e.g., Asana, Wrike, Basecamp, etc.).
- Microsoft Office tools (e.g., Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- General understanding of other platforms that directly aid in program delivery.
- Ability to learn new platform as project need require
- Ability to manage, analyze, and engage with a large database of contacts
- Availability to staff in-person events outside of traditional business hours, including on weekends and evenings
- Ability to travel to various locations in and around Seattle and King County. Driver's license not required.
- Ability to lift, carry, and transport 25+ lbs
- Ability to work from Alta’s downtown Seattle office two days per week, as well as effectively collaborate remotely.
- At least two years professional experience related to sales, customer service, hospitality, administration, communications, marketing, public administration, public outreach and/or another related field and/or a bachelor's degree or higher in a related field (hospitality, communications, business, marketing, environmental studies, or others)
- Managing time and projects: good processes in place to get work done, to prioritize resources, initiatives, and timelines
- Knowledgeable (or highly curious) about behavior change, sustainability, transportation, TDM, city planning, community development, economic development, or related fields
- Desire to positively affect the community, region, and environment
- Eagerness to build and refine your skills
- Experience interacting with diverse groups of people
- Bilingual in Spanish

Compensation
- Medical: PPO or HSA medical plans, Alta pays 75% of the cost
- Dental/Vision: PPO, Alta pays 90% of the cost
