We are actively seeking to hire the following position in Orlando:
  • Senior CAD Designer (Water/Wastewater/Utilities)
The Senior Water Utilities CAD Designer is responsible for leading the design of water and wastewater infrastructure projects, ensuring technical accuracy, compliance with codes, and alignment with project goals.

--Summary--

Our Senior Water Utilities CAD Designer is a senior-level technical role that blends advanced CAD skills with deep knowledge of water and wastewater infrastructure, requiring leadership, compliance expertise, and the ability to deliver complex design solutions from concept to completion.

--Role Overview--

This role is typically within a civil/municipal engineering or design firm, working on projects such as water transmission pipelines, pump stations, treatment plants, sanitary sewers, tanks, and reservoirs. The Senior CAD Designer leads concept development, produces detailed technical drawings, and coordinates with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality design solutions.


What You'll Do:

--Key Responsibilities--
  • Lead design concept development to meet client needs and project objectives, ensuring alignment with budget, schedule, and regulatory constraints
  • Create detailed technical drawings, plans, and specifications using AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and other design software, ensuring compliance with industry standards, codes, and project specs
  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, and project managers to integrate technical, structural, and aesthetic elements into cohesive solutions
  • Oversee multidisciplinary coordination to ensure seamless design and construction integration
  • Participate in design reviews and implement feedback to maintain quality and meet project goals
  • Interpret building codes, safety regulations, and client requirements to ensure legal and safety compliance
  • Conduct research on materials, construction techniques, and industry trends to incorporate innovative, up-to-date solutions
  • Perform site visits to assess construction progress, feasibility, and design adjustments
  • Generate reports based on site assessments and findings
  • Calculate material quantities, cost estimates, and other data to support civil engineering and land development projects
  • Coordinate construction plans across disciplines and ensure timely submission of design documents to regulatory agencies


What You'll Need:

--Required Skills & Qualifications--
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D (often mandatory)
  • Experience in water utilities design, including pipelines, pump stations, treatment facilities, and related infrastructure
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written) for client and team collaboration
  • Project management experience to oversee design workflows and deadlines
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field
  • Minimum 5–10 years of specialized experience in water/wastewater CAD design
  • Ability to mentor junior designers and guide design workflows
