Key Responsibilities
1. Interact with commercial teams to understand strategies and market drivers
2. Assist with special projects, such as: answering questions from the trading team, preparing presentations for events, assist with market research supporting the approval of large transactions/strategies, etc.
3. Develop fundamental supply/demand analysis approach to each particular commodity market, in a regional and global context
4. Create various analytics and reports representing price trends and spreads, margin analysis, supply chain costs, etc.
5. Stay up to date on market announcements
6. Aggregate large amounts of data, drawing meaningful conclusions from outputs
7. Develop materials that can be shared both internally and externally with key suppliers and customers
8. Provide timely and accurate market intelligence to the trading team, including logistical/shipping information to maximize business opportunities
9. Coordinate with various teams (trading, shipping, etc.) to collect internal intelligence and organize it into a coherent and comprehensive market outlook
10.Assist in the setup, configuration and implementation of the market intelligence function
Qualifications
1. Bachelor’s degree required (Data Analytics, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or similar field)
2. English Proficiency both orally and written
3. Knowledge of commodity markets (petrochemicals, fuels, polymers)
4. Strong strategic thinker with demonstrated analytical capabilities
5. Experience in economic modeling, Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, and Python skills, including knowledge of databases and data management concepts
6. Dynamic interpersonal skills
7. Excellent communication and presentation skills
8. Willingness and ability to work independently; be a self-starter
9. Capacity to work under time-sensitive business and reporting deadlines
