In this role, you'll:

 

The role is required to operate Heavy Rigid vehicles safely and is also expected to tow any trailers that the vehicle is rated to tow. You'll also operate a HIAB or similar truck-mounted crane to support loading, unloading, and material handling tasks.

As part of a small, close-knit crew, you'll contribute to a range of road and bridge maintenance activities, undertaking Bridge Worker and Road Worker duties when not driving. This is a diverse, hands-on role that offers the opportunity to expand your skills and gain additional industry qualifications, including Traffic Control, Scaffolding, Rigging, Dogging, First Aid, and Earthmoving Plant Operation.

 

This position operates on a 9-day fortnight, allowing you to enjoy a 3-day long weekend every fortnight, helping you achieve a great work-life balance.

 

You'll be willing to travel daily, work away from home when required, and undertake work in small rural and regional communities across the region.

About you

 

We are seeking an experienced HR Class Truck Driver to join our Bridge Maintenance team based in Dubbo. Alongside operating Heavy Rigid vehicles, you'll support a variety of bridge maintenance activities, including concreting, steelwork, vegetation control, rock armouring, and painting.

You will be comfortable working with limited supervision, committed to maintaining a safe workplace, and able to adapt to a fast-paced, hands-on environment. A strong understanding of the Chain of Responsibility (COR), heavy haulage operations, and heavy vehicle compliance and record-keeping is essential.

 

Essential Requirements

 

  • A current White Card.
  • A valid Heavy Rigid (HR) Driver Licence or higher.
  • Experience in labouring or a similar role within a construction, civil engineering, or maintenance environment.
  • A willingness to work at heights, with training provided as required.

 

Experience operating a Truck Mounted Crane (HIAB) and holding the relevant High Risk Work Licence (HRWL) and/or C6 Crane Operator qualification is highly regarded. For the right candidate, training and support can be provided to obtain these qualifications.
