In this role, you will deliver business analysis expertise across Sydney Metro IT initiatives. This role drives analysis, advice, and support by validating business strategies, contributing to business cases, and translating requirements into effective solution designs. This ensures solutions address business needs and deliver value. This role is also responsible for managing the full requirements lifecycle, from functional analysis through to documentation and acceptance testing.

 

The responsibilities for this Senior Digital Business Analyst role include:

 

- Partner with stakeholders to analyse business strategies, define needs, and document current and future state capabilities, ensuring alignment between business and technical teams

- Drive business case development by analysing problems and opportunities, conducting options analysis, quantifying benefits, and ensuring alignment to strategic business outcomes

- Lead the end-to-end requirements lifecycle, including elicitation, documentation, prioritisation, and validation. Maintain full traceability and ensure a structured handover for operations transition

- Lead the analysis and modelling of business processes. Establish process baselines and collaborate with stakeholders to clarify operational needs and future state expectations

- Validate delivered solutions against business objectives and requirements. Proactively identify gaps and facilitate the resolution of issues during delivery and post-go-live

- Enable quality assurance by ensuring requirements and acceptance criteria are testable. Contribute to test plans and participate in testing activities alongside QA and technical teams

- Collaborate across IT and business functions, including architects, project managers, and delivery partners, to define scope, clarify design, and ensure a smooth transition to operations.

About you

 

You are an experienced IT Business Analyst who is comfortable working in complex environments and navigating multiple priorities. You bring a strong analytical mindset, enjoy solving problems and are confident engaging with a broad range of stakeholders to turn business needs into high quality technical outcomes. You value collaboration, integrity and continuous improvement, and you are motivated by delivering meaningful outcomes for customers and the wider community.

 

To succeed in this role, you will have:

 

- Demonstrated experience as a Senior Digital Business Analyst within complex product environments or large-scale enterprise technology landscapes

- Advanced capability in strategy and business capability analysis, process modelling, requirements engineering, and full lifecycle management

- Proven ability to drive business case development, including defining business needs, analysing solution options, and quantifying benefits

- Experience leading test planning and quality assurance activities to verify that delivered solutions meet business requirements and acceptance criteria

- Expert stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work proactively across cross-functional teams to negotiate and resolve competing viewpoints

- Superior communication skills, with the ability to translate complex business and technical information into clear, actionable insights

- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline or equivalent professional experience
