In this role, you'll:
• Carry out maintenance and emergency response activities for road incidents on the Hume Highway and other state roads managed by the Hume Motorway Office.
• Perform a variety of maintenance and manual labouring tasks using plant and equipment, as well as powered and non-powered hand tools.
• Undertake road maintenance works, which may include (but are not limited to) road widening, barrier installations, pavement upgrades, overtaking lane construction, and heavy patching.
• Travel across the region as needed to attend worksites, respond to call-outs, and work night shifts when required.
• Work a 9-day fortnight schedule.
This is an ongoing full-time role based at Gundagai.

About you
You’re a team player with a keen eye for detail and experience working in similar environments. Practical and adaptable, you learn quickly, communicate effectively, and enjoy being physically active while performing outdoor manual tasks that involve using hand tools and equipment in a collaborative setting.
Essential Requirements:
• Previous experience as a Road Worker (Grade 1–3) or in related civil construction labouring roles. See the position description for more details.
• Current Construction Industry White Card.
• Current unrestricted NSW motor vehicle driver’s licence.
• Willingness to undertake any legislated or internal licensing, training or ticketing requirements as directed
Preferred (but not essential):
• Traffic Control tickets.
• Truck licence (Medium Rigid to Heavy Rigid).
Additional Requirements:
• Reside within 100 km of the Gundagai works depot.
• Be prepared to work outside normal hours, attend callouts, travel across the district, and work away from home when required.
