Cost & Change Control Analyst

In this role, you'll:
Play a key part in ensuring cost transparency, financial accuracy, and strong governance across a diverse portfolio of Sydney Integration projects. You’ll help project teams manage budgets, understand the financial and schedule impacts of changes, and make informed decisions. By providing clear reporting and insights, you’ll make it easier for stakeholders to see the financial picture and understand where risks, variances, or opportunities exist. You’ll also contribute to improving cost and change control processes and tools across the branch.
Key responsibilities include:
• Assisting with the development, maintenance and monitoring of project and program cost plans, budgets and forecasts.
• Tracking and analysing expenditure, commitments and accruals against approved budgets.
• Supporting the assessment and validation of change requests, including analysing financial and schedule impacts.
• Maintaining the change control register and ensuring all variations are properly documented, reviewed and authorised.
• Preparing and delivering cost and change-related reports, dashboards and insights to governance forums.
• Ensuring compliance with financial, procurement and governance policies.
• Contributing to continuous improvement of cost and change control processes, frameworks and tools.
• Role modelling the NSW public sector and Transport values to deliver quality outcomes.

About you
You’re an analytical and detail-oriented professional who understands how cost and change affect project delivery. You can translate numbers into practical insights that support confident, evidence-based decisions. You’re comfortable using SAP Equip and you know how to make financial data meaningful for teams and decision-makers. You’re organised, pragmatic, and able to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and governance standards. You collaborate effectively with project teams, stakeholders, and executives, helping everyone understand the financial and change picture clearly.
To succeed in this role, you will have:
• Demonstrated experience in cost management, financial analysis or change control within large or complex programs.
• Strong knowledge of financial governance frameworks, procurement processes and project controls.
• Ability to interpret financial and change data and present insights to support decision-making.
• Experience working with cost and change control systems, tools and reporting mechanisms.
• Tertiary qualifications in a related discipline and/or relevant industry experience.
• A proactive mindset, strong communication skills and the ability to operate effectively in a multi-project environment.
