Job Description 

The Test Technician II will work within the Performance Engineering team, supporting Test Engineers with the verification and validation techniques used to guarantee our customers have an unparalleled product experience, our products are safe to use, and they perform according to Traeger Test Standards. This role focuses on hands-on test execution and data collection, with an emphasis on capturing, logging, and organizing test results accurately. An interest in the software, firmware, and electronic control side of our products is highly valued, as our grills grow increasingly connected and controller-driven. This is a strong opportunity for an early-career candidate who brings a testing mindset and is eager to develop hands-on mechanical and thermal testing skills in a fast-paced product development environment. 

Job Duties 

  • Support Test Engineers with performance evaluations through the collection and logging of test data 
  • Perform accurate, structured data entry and maintain organized test records 
  • Prepare test fixtures and data acquisition systems to assist with test workflow and schedules 
  • Test prototype grills for performance verification, temperature stability, and quality improvements in complex environments 
  • Evaluate, document, and report failures and issues throughout the product development process 
  • Assist with the validation and verification of firmware and controller behavior under test conditions 

What Success Looks Like 

  • Test data is accurately captured, well organized, and readily available to the engineering team 
  • Tests are set up and executed reliably and on schedule 
  • Continuous growth in hands-on testing capability and product knowledge 

Requirements 

  • Associate degree in a related field, technical school accreditation, military electronics training, or equivalent hands-on experience 
  • No four-year degree required 
  • A testing mindset with strong attention to detail in data collection and data entry 
  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative, team-driven work environment 
  • Well versed in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel 
  • Eagerness to learn, participate, and be proactive 
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs 

Experience That's a Plus 

  • Background in software, firmware, or QA testing environments 
  • Familiarity with PCB or electronics testing 
  • Experience with data acquisition systems (DEWESoft or similar) 
  • Python programming 
  • Familiarity with AI tools such as Claude 
  • Exposure to compliance or certification testing (ETL, CSA, UL, or similar)
