This Role is Tailor-Made for You Because:
We are seeking an experienced Technical Designer – Sweaters to join our team. In this role, you will partner closely with the Senior Sweater Technical Designer to develop and execute fit and construction from initial concept through production. The ideal candidate has a strong technical background in sweater development, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to communicate design intent clearly through technical documentation, garment specifications, and collaboration with cross-functional teams and overseas vendors.This position reports directly to the Senior Sweater Technical Designer.
A Day in the Life:
Responsibilities
- Assist in creating initial development specifications for new styles and prepare technical packages for prototype requests.
- Maintain and update tech packs, garment specifications, and fit comments throughout the development process from prototype to bulk production.
- Evaluate prototype and production samples to ensure design intent, fit, and construction standards are achieved, recommending adjustments as needed.
- Prepare for fit sessions by tracking incoming samples, accurately measuring garments, and documenting fit comments and revisions.
- Maintain seasonal work-in-progress (WIP) sample tracking and ensure development milestones are met.
- Support the Senior Sweater Technical Designer by managing technical comments and helping maintain development timelines while working independently.
- Communicate directly with suppliers and factories on technical matters, providing clear guidance to resolve fit, construction, and quality issues while achieving the desired product aesthetic.
- Collaborate with Design, Product Development, Merchandising, and Production teams to ensure consistency and accuracy throughout the product lifecycle.
To Land This Role:
- 5+ years of experience in Technical Design, including patternmaking, garment construction, and fit evaluation, with a strong focus on sweaters and knitwear.
- Solid understanding of knit structures, yarns, gauges, knitting construction, garment finishing, and wash processes.
- Strong knowledge of grading, bulk production standards, and specification management.
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator is required; experience with PLM systems is preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey technical information clearly and effectively.
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in English to effectively communicate with internal teams and international suppliers.

Compensation Range
The compensation range for this position is 100,000.00 USD - 125,000.00 USD. Our offer will be based on your relevant experience and work location.Benefits Information
