Overnight Food Manufacturing Sanitation Associate

Phoenix · On-site$18 – $20

About this role

Pay: $18–20/hr Schedule: Full-Time, 35–40 hrs/week | 6:00 PM – 2:00 AM | Weekend availability required

About the Role

Too Sweet Cakes is looking for an experienced sanitation professional to help keep our bakery production facility clean, safe, and SQF audit-ready every night. This isn't general janitorial work — it's hands-on sanitation in an active food manufacturing environment, and it plays a direct role in the safety and quality of everything we bake.

This role requires prior sanitation experience in a food manufacturing, food production, or bakery setting. General warehouse or custodial experience alone won't meet the bar for this position.

What You'll Do

Facility & Equipment Sanitation

  • Clean, scrub, and sanitize floors, walls, drains, and work surfaces throughout the production facility
  • Sanitize production equipment, racks, carts, tables, and bakery fixtures per Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs)
  • Perform routine and deep-cleaning tasks to maintain SQF and GMP compliance
  • Safely operate floor scrubbers, hoses, power washers, and approved sanitation chemicals
  • Maintain cleanliness in storage areas, docks, refrigeration units, and common areas as assigned
  • Flag sanitation, maintenance, or food safety concerns as soon as you spot them

Dishwashing & Tool Sanitation

  • Wash, sanitize, and organize dishes, utensils, trays, pans, and small production equipment
  • Operate commercial dishwashing equipment and manual wash stations to food safety standards
  • Inspect cleaned items before they go back into storage or production
  • Keep dishwashing and sanitation areas clean, organized, and stocked

Documentation & Compliance

  • Complete sanitation logs and checklists accurately and on time
  • Follow SQF, GMP, OSHA, and company food safety policies
  • Help keep the facility audit-ready at all times, for internal and external audits alike
Working Conditions

You'll be working in an active bakery production environment with exposure to water, cleaning chemicals, and temperature changes. PPE (gloves, non-slip footwear) is required. It's fast-paced work that calls for consistency, precision, and a sharp eye for food safety.

Required

  • Prior sanitation experience in a food manufacturing, food production, or bakery environment (mandatory)
  • Working knowledge of — or ability to quickly learn — SSOPs, GMPs, and food safety sanitation procedures
  • Ability to follow written and verbal safety and sanitation instructions
  • Comfort with physically demanding work: standing, bending, lifting, repetitive motion
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Availability for a full-time overnight schedule, including weekends
  • Reliable attendance and strong attention to detail

Nice to Have

  • Experience in an SQF-certified or audit-regulated food production facility
  • Familiarity with SQF, GMPs, or other structured food safety programs
  • Food Handler's Card (or willingness to obtain one before your start date)
  • Stable, full-time overnight role at a growing bakery
  • Benefits eligibility on the 1st of the month following 60 days of full-time employment
  • A direct hand in food safety and product quality
  • Team-oriented environment with training and room to grow

Company at a glance

Every great story starts with a dream—and ours began with a simple one: to create pastries that not only tasted incredible but made people feel cared for.

Too Sweet Cakes was founded in 2016 by Shelbi Geyer, whose love for baking started as a young girl, sketching cake designs and dreaming of one day opening her own bakery. That dream stayed with her, fueled by a passion for creativity, connection, and a belief that food could be something truly meaningful.

What started as a small wholesale bakery quickly grew into something more. In 2018, we opened our first storefront in Bend, Oregon, creating a space where pastries weren’t just desserts—they were memories in the making. From there Too Sweet Cakes expanded to Lake Oswego, and today, we proudly operate four retail locations across Oregon and Arizona, with a fifth location opening in 2026 in Paradise Valley, Arizona.

Beyond our storefronts, you’ll find Too Sweet Cakes pastries featured in over 100 locations across Oregon, Washington, and Arizona. It’s been an incredible journey—one made possible by the extraordinary team who has brought their talents, heart, and dedication into every part of the business.

Our team of bakers, decorators, and visionaries are the heartbeat of Too Sweet Cakes. Together, we share a mission that’s never changed: to love people well through pastries.

As we continue to grow, we remain rooted in the values that sparked it all—creativity, community, and a deep love for making people feel special. We are so grateful to every customer, partner, and community who has supported our journey—and we can’t wait to celebrate even more sweet moments with you, one bite at a time.
