We are currently looking for a Field Service Engineer to support our growing customer base across Japan. In this role, you will be the technical expert on-site, ensuring our systems operate at peak performance while building strong relationships with customers and delivering outstanding service.
Job Description
What You'll Do
As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, maintenance, optimization, and troubleshooting of TOMRA sorting systems across Japan.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Commissioning, testing, integration, and start-up of TOMRA sorting equipment
- Performing preventive maintenance, repairs, and technical upgrades
- Diagnosing and resolving electrical, mechanical, and system-related issues
- Providing on-site and remote technical support to customers
- Optimizing machine performance and maximizing equipment uptime
- Delivering customer training for operators and maintenance teams
- Preparing detailed service reports and technical documentation
- Supporting Sales and Project Management teams with technical expertise
- Participating in on-call support activities when required
- Sharing field feedback and improvement opportunities with internal teams
Qualifications
What We're Looking For
Experience & Qualifications
- Degree, diploma, or equivalent qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Electro-Mechanical Engineering
- Experience in Field Service, Industrial Maintenance, Automation, Commissioning, or similar technical environments
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and manage technical issues in the field
- Experience working directly with customers in industrial environments

- Japanese: Business-level proficiency
- English: Professional working proficiency
Additional Requirements
- Willingness to travel extensively throughout Japan
- Ability to travel internationally on occasion when required
- Valid driver's license
