Paid Social Manager

About this role

⌘ About Timeleft

Timeleft is a social app that brings strangers together. We match people into groups of 6 and send them to restaurants, cafés, and bars for dinners, drinks, coffees, and runs. Every week, 150,000+ people use Timeleft across 200+ cities in 52 countries. We're 100 employees and growing fast.

Our product only works if people book. That makes paid social the engine: Meta, TikTok, YouTube, Snap — all live, all scaling, all competing for the next install and the next dinner. The Lead owns the strategy; we need someone in the cockpit every day making the accounts perform, bringing tests to the table, and pushing each platform harder. That's where you come in.

⌘ About The Role

The Paid Social Manager is the hands-on operator inside our paid acquisition function. You sit in Ads Manager daily, run performance across Meta and non-Meta channels, and work closely with the Paid Social Lead to scale what works and kill what doesn't. You don't just execute — you bring hypotheses, design tests, brief creative, and help shape where we spend next. Reports to the Paid Social Lead.

⌘ Key Responsibilities

  • Run day-to-day performance across our paid social accounts. Ads Manager, campaign structure, budgets, bidding, creative rotation, kill rules
  • Support scaling across Meta, TikTok, YouTube and Snapchat (+ others). Push each platform harder against the Lead's strategy and contribute to the exploration of what to open next
  • Bring hypotheses and bets to the Lead. Not just execute the plan; help shape it
  • Test structurally. Design tests, ship them, read the results, iterate. Never spray and pray
  • Work with the creative strategist on creative bets. Persona-coded, hook-clear, format-native briefs to the Content Studio
  • Bring AI into how you work. LLMs and automation to compress reporting, brief generation, keyword research, and repetitive tasks
  • Weekly performance review with the Lead. Diagnose the numbers, name what changed, propose the next move
  • Contribute to our operating playbook. If you find a better way to run something, write it down

⌘ About You

  • Hands-on paid social operator, in Ads Manager every day in your current role. Not supervising, actually doing
  • Deep Meta experience at material spend levels, ideally at a consumer subscription or consumer-app business
  • Real depth on at least one of YouTube, TikTok, or Snapchat. Not "we tested it once". You have run these platforms as a primary channel and know what makes them work
  • Process-oriented. You have a documented way of running your accounts and can explain it. You find and remove your own bottlenecks
  • AI-native. LLMs and automation are part of how you already work. You can name three ways AI has compressed your workflow in the last six months
  • Testing discipline. You can walk us through three tests you designed, ran, and drew a clear conclusion from
  • Creative sensibility. You brief creative that lands. You know why a hook works and why a hook does not
  • Collaborative. You bring your Lead into decisions, you push back when the strategy needs pushing back on, you do not operate in silence
  • You bring bets. You do not just execute the brief; you have hypotheses and you want the room to test them
  • Experience across funnels. App-install and web. You have run both and know where they behave differently.

⌘ What This Role Is NOT

  • Not a Lead role. The Lead owns strategy, the auction end to end, and the channel budget. You run the accounts against that strategy and bring bets into the mix
  • Not a Meta-only role. You will be pushing TikTok, YouTube and Snap alongside Meta. If you only want to run Meta, this is not the seat
  • Not a strategy-only role. You are hands-on in Ads Manager every day
  • Not a people-management role. IC shape

⌘ What's In It For You

  • Real scaling ground across Meta, TikTok, YouTube and Snap. All four are live; your job is to make them bigger
  • Space to bring your own hypotheses and bets. You are not just executing a plan
  • Close partnership with the creative strategist on where creative goes next
  • A team that runs on evidence, not vibes. We optimise to truth, not platform-reported metrics
  • Direct line to the Paid Social Lead and exposure to the wider marketing team
  • Competitive base, equity, and standard Timeleft benefits, including the Timeleft dinners themselves

⌘ Expected Outcomes

At 3 months:

  • You own day-to-day performance across the Meta account under the Lead's strategy
  • You are contributing meaningfully to scale on TikTok, YouTube and Snap
  • Your AI-augmented workflow is running: reporting, brief generation, and repetitive tasks are compressed
  • Weekly performance readouts with the Lead are humming; you diagnose the numbers rather than narrating activity
  • Creative briefs to the Content Studio are landing to spec

At 6 months:

  • Material scale progression on at least one of TikTok, YouTube or Snap
  • You are shipping structural tests weekly with documented learnings
  • Hypotheses and bets you have brought to the Lead are landing in the roadmap
  • The Lead can rely on you to run performance while they focus on the next thing
  • The operating playbook for paid social has your fingerprints on it

⌘ Recruitment Process

  1. Introduction Interview (30 min) with Talent Acquisition Lead
  2. Business Interview (30 min) with Paid Social Lead. Deep dive on Meta experience, non-Meta channels, testing discipline, and AI use
  3. Case Study (take-home, ~3 hours): a realistic Timeleft scenario across Meta and at least one non-Meta channel
  4. Final Interview - Case Study Debrief (60 min) with Paid Social Lead and VP Marketing

We exist to give the world a chance to show up again—to help people become the friend they wish they had, and through that practice, create the friendships they've been searching for.

You might know us as 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘢𝘱𝘱 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘯𝘦𝘳 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘦𝘳𝘴. But what we're building is 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗱𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗮𝗽𝗽—supporting the entire journey from that first brave hello to the repeated moments that turn strangers into chosen family.

We create infrastructure for real connection: ways to signal mutual interest, invite people back, and weave new faces into existing circles. We don't optimize away awkwardness or pretend friendship is effortless. We create conditions where people remember that every deep friendship started with two strangers choosing to show up—and then showing up again.
