Tidewater, Inc. is seeking a Senior HVAC Technician based out of Columbus, OH to support facility operations and maintenance across a multi-state portfolio of federal facilities. This role is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of commercial and industrial HVAC systems at multiple sites, ensuring equipment meets operational, safety, and environmental standards for federal workplaces throughout the assigned region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, repair, maintain, and service commercial/industrial HVAC equipment including chillers, boilers, rooftop units, air handlers, and controls
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting and preventive maintenance across multiple facilities within the assigned region
  • Travel extensively (often multi-day) to federal facilities across the region
  • Prioritize and manage a multi-site work order queue, balancing routine PM schedules with emergency repairs
  • Inspect and calibrate thermostats, controls, and building automation systems at each site
  • Maintain compliance with EPA refrigerant handling regulations (Section 608 certification required)
  • Document maintenance activities and service history in a CMMS or facility management system for each facility visited
  • Coordinate with management and facility staff across the region on capital repair or replacement recommendations
  • Work independently while following safety standards and documenting service work
  • Maintain and stock a service vehicle with tools, parts, and equipment needed for multi-site travel
  • Mentor junior or site-based technicians as needed

Requirements

  • 5+ years of HVAC/HVACR experience with proven work on commercial and industrial systems
  • Current EPA Section 608 Universal Certification
  • Journeyman HVAC license or equivalent trade certification preferred
  • Strong diagnostic skills and ability to work independently
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively and obtain required federal facility access credentials
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Ability to meet physical demands of the job (lifting, climbing, working in varied conditions)

Preferred

  • NATE certification or manufacturer training
  • Experience with building automation or advanced controls
  • Prior work on federal, large institutional, or health care facilities
