Reporting to the Vice President of Marketing APAC, the Marketing Director leads Ticketmaster’s marketing function for key Australian clients, overseeing strategic marketing planning and the delivery of integrated marketing initiatives across a diverse client portfolio.
This senior leadership role is responsible for ensuring the effective execution of Ticketmaster’s marketing framework to drive commercial outcomes, achieve client objectives, enhance the customer experience, and maximise both client and customer satisfaction.
The Marketing Director works closely with local and regional stakeholders to deliver key business priorities while identifying and leading market-specific opportunities that strengthen Ticketmaster’s market position, support long-term growth, and drive innovation across the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, develop, and inspire a high-performing team of senior marketing professionals, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee the strategic planning, development, and execution of integrated marketing campaigns for Ticketmaster’s portfolio of clients, ensuring alignment with client objectives, commercial targets, and Ticketmaster’s marketing framework.
- Own the performance and optimisation of both departmental and client marketing investments, ensuring budgets are effectively allocated to maximise return on investment, sales outcomes, and marketing effectiveness.
- Ensure the marketing function is equipped with the tools, technology, processes, and capabilities required to deliver best-in-class marketing outcomes at scale.
- Provide strategic marketing leadership across a diverse portfolio of clients spanning sport, live entertainment, theatre, venues, and other live event categories.
- Drive the effective utilisation of Ticketmaster’s audience, data, marketing, and distribution capabilities to maximise campaign reach, engagement, conversion, and revenue outcomes.
- Build and maintain senior client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor and strategic partner throughout the event lifecycle and client contract.
- Partner with key clients to identify, scope, and deliver strategic initiatives that strengthen partnerships, create commercial value, and support mutual business objectives.
- Ensure owned, earned, paid, and partner marketing channels are leveraged effectively in line with regional strategies to achieve sales targets, audience growth objectives, and performance KPIs.
- Collaborate with Sales and Business Development teams to support commercial growth through compelling marketing strategies, tender responses, and client proposals.
- Work closely with Client Development, Operations, and other business stakeholders to ensure seamless on-sale execution, event delivery, and achievement of client outcomes.
- Engage with clients at key stages of the event lifecycle to provide strategic guidance, maximise adoption of Ticketmaster marketing solutions, evaluate campaign effectiveness, and identify future growth opportunities.
- Collaborate with Marketing Technology, Data, and Insights teams to advance marketing capability, drive operational efficiency, and improve campaign effectiveness through automation, personalisation, measurement, attribution, and reporting.
- Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, consumer behaviour, and emerging technologies to inform strategy, identify opportunities, and maintain Ticketmaster’s leadership position in the market.
- Drive adoption of Ticketmaster’s marketing self-service tools and capabilities, enabling clients to become more self-sufficient while improving operational efficiency, scalability, and campaign effectiveness.
- Lead the development of future marketing leaders through coaching, mentoring, talent development, and succession planning, fostering a high-performing and sustainable marketing organisation.
- Represent the Australian business in regional and global marketing initiatives, sharing best practices, contributing market expertise, and supporting the delivery of broader Ticketmaster strategic priorities.
- Contribute as a senior business leader through participation in strategic planning, business performance reviews, and leadership forums, helping shape Ticketmaster Australia's strategic direction, investment priorities, and long-term growth.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW (TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS)
- 10+ years’ experience in a senior client marketing role, managing multiple high-value accounts across both B2B and B2C landscapes, with demonstrated success in campaign strategy, execution, and stakeholder engagement.
- Proven expertise in planning and executing paid media campaigns, either in-house or agency-side, leveraging platforms such as Meta Business Manager, TikTok Business Manager, and third-party ad automation tools.
- Demonstrated ability to manage large-scale media budgets, consistently driving growth and ROI through data-informed strategies and performance optimisation.
- Strong project and time management capabilities, with a proven track record of successfully balancing multiple concurrent priorities, meeting deadlines, and aligning execution with both tactical and strategic business objectives.
- Hands-on experience with customer engagement platforms such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Braze, or equivalent, with the ability to build and optimise lifecycle campaigns that enhance fan engagement and customer experience.
- Confident in interpreting, synthesising, and presenting campaign, event, and audience performance data to internal stakeholders and external clients, providing actionable insights and recommendations.
- Ability to distil complex technical concepts into clear, accessible language for diverse audiences, ensuring buy-in and alignment across technical and non-technical teams.
- A forward-thinking and creative marketing leader with a track record of championing innovation, adopting emerging tools and strategies, and embedding new approaches across teams or organisations.
Desired Requirements
- Strong experience in a hands-on role, planning and executing multichannel campaigns Paid Social Media campaigns at an agency or brand.
- Experience executing Programmatic Media campaigns at an agency or brand.
- Experience working on e-commerce businesses or equivalent industries with large inventory.
- Experience working with MarTech tools including inventory management systems, pixel management or measurement tools.
